Wow

Grill’d are running their free burger lunch promo thingy today, so I figured I should get a free burger for lunch.

I figured there would be a line…

Eep Oh... Ahhh...

Maybe I’ll go to Nando’s instead today.

What a bunch of farken tightasses.

There are a few people waiting in line who should be digging into a healthy salad instead!

Probably people who would lie in a survey about their eating habits.

Well, better to stand in line for a free burger than for a piece of overpriced hardware that will be obsolete in less than a year… But I agree with you guys, not worth it.

The buns are s***house at Grill’d. Buns maketh a burger!!

I do quite like Grill’d as a general rule, but you;re so right about the buns. Their buns are easily the weakest aspect of their burgers.

All that desperation for frozen premade patties. Their sauces are quite good though.

All things relative, they’re still better than the buns you get from

KFC
McDonalds
Hungry Jacks
Oporto
Red Rooster
Bakers Delight
Woolies
Coles

Hm, must not be that bad after all

I’d also think that when it comes to comparisons, KFC, McDonalds, Hungry Jacks, Oporto, and Red Rooster (plus possibly others) should be the benchmark when making comparisons to Grill’d. Let’s face it – they’re a franchise, and as such have restrictions and limitations to ensure that when you go to the Grill’d in the Canberra Centre, it’s the same as the one you visited in Melbourne. Much the same reason McDonalds is so popular.

So their buns aren’t from a local artisan bakery, and the patties aren’t hand made in store. What you get is a consistent burger, that’s a step above what you can get at a lot of other franchises. Seems like a winning formula to me.

My thought exactly. People mustn’t value their own time very much. I wouldn’t queue for that long for a free lap dance with Jennifer Hawkins let alone a mediocre burger.

Yes because freezing is sooo evil.

That first photo is very Beatles

Especially with the neon sign in the background saying “Love, Love, Love”.

Wot, no fast-track queue for the Media? What is the world coming to?

Must be nice to have hours free during the day to wait in line for a burger.

You don’t need a job when the burgers are free, so get off your high-horse.

and how many of those in line do you reckon are unemployed? I know that a few of them might be after skipping half a day at work.

You’re a real fun-loving free-spirit who plays by his own rules, aren’t you. I can tell these things.

You KNOW that a few MIGHT BE?

Are they or are they not? Make up your mind.

A high percentage of uni students, I’m led to believe.

Anyway – surely the old two hour lunch isn’t dead and buried in this town yet, is it?

In seriousness, how far did the line go back at peak times???

I’m guessing that the people after the free burger won’t be frequenting the Boss shop. wasted opportunity for Boss!!

Holy moly! Interesting that some people will line up for hours (probably judging by the pic) to get an item worth $11-$15 retail….but each to their own. Throw in a chugger and it’d be my idea of hell
