Motorists should expect extensive delays on the city-bound lanes of Barry Drive after a bus and car collided on Tuesday morning (10 September).

Around 8:39 am, ACT Fire and Rescue, ACT Ambulance Service and ACT Policing were called to Barry Drive near Dryandra Street, O’Connor after reports of a car on its side after a collision.

Paramedics treated two patients at the scene before one patient was transported to hospital in a stable condition.

An ESA spokesperson said motorists should expect extensive delays and to use alternate routes if possible.

The same accident keeps happening there – because buses, taxis and motorbikes come flying down the hill, while other vehicles are attempting to cross the bus lane (from O’Connor) into stationary traffic. The only solution is to permanently block off the exit from O’Connor.
