I cna’t believe this Maddern woman clearly knows what happened and won’t say.

This is yet another problem with very light sentences. If the penalty for burglary was a gaol sentence, they could have made a deal with her, to say what happened, for a light sentence.

But when the sentence was just a good behaviour bond – that leaves her with no incentive at all to tell what she knows.

How infuriating for the family of the victim, to know that the police know these people were in the house on the day Susan died, but that they can’t actually charge them.

Indeed. Not only will the person say anything that they believe will get the torture to stop, often they will come to actually believe this falsehood.

What exactly is the point of naming ‘persons of interest’?
Are they under arrest, wanting to arrest them or just warning us all to steer clear of these unsavoury types?
