Pet Ambos (not the kind you can take home)

By Thumper - 7 January 2008 5

[Ed: the cute idea, it’s local nature and the fact that I’ve been in need of a service like this from time to time have meant we let this, which is basically an ad spiel, go up. It had a jingle to go with it but even if that was within my coding skills (perhaps on of the other admins could of done something but it was beyond me) I think it would have messed with all our sanity.]

Get your pet to the vet with

PET AMBULANCE SERVICES

With our increasingly busy lives, sometimes it can be difficult to find the time to take our beloved family pets for veterinary check-ups and consultations.  It can also be very stressful transporting a very ill family pet to, from or between veterinary clinics.  Pet Ambulance Services provide an all hours, on-call vehicle that has been purpose fitted to transport ill family pets.  It is has large comfortable cages that can be serviced with oxygen if necessary.  A closed circuit television means that patients can be monitored in transit. Services include routine transportation to, from and between veterinary clinics, and emergency call-outs.  I also offer a representation service, where I can pick up your pet, take a brief history, transport your pet to your regular vet and represent you in consult, then return your pet to you.  I can also attend your residence to medicate your pet (as directed by your veterinarian), change a bandage or even just clip their nails. Pet Ambulance Services – Jarrod Male (Owner/Operator)Ph 02 62540547 or 0448789039

[Ed: a quick web search also reveals that Jarrod gives a 10-30% discount to RSPCA ACT members and is himself a vet nurse at the Kippax Vet clinic.]

I emailed ntp a flier with costs.

And given the set up of the van, and service provided, the costs are probably quite reasonable.

I bet it comes at a hefty price too… any idea on costs?

That’s the idea. Hopefully we’ll have the jingle on commercial radio at some time.

it’s a great service really.

I wish my family and I had known about this several months ago when we had to transport our (50 odd kg!) beloved dog Zak (RIP) between appointment after appointment in an attempt to get his spinal cancer diagnosed correctly. It affected his ability to walk properly and getting him into and out of cars was very difficult and often upsetting. A great idea, hopefully they can get their name out and about to help others in similar situations to our own.
