While most of you cool cats are listening to podcasts and your carefully tailored playlists as you undertake the morning commute it appears some rioters persist with the quaint early 1900s tradition of listening to the radio.

But a lot of people were interested when we broke the news that Mix 106’s Cam and Lisa were being bundled out of the building.

Today the station has sent in this statement on a replacement:

Radio listeners in the ACT will wake up to a fresh start in the morning from Monday July 4th with the newly formed breakfast show ‘Pete & Biggzy for Breakfast’ on-air from 6am to 9am.

Pete Curulli is already well known by Canberra radio audiences since his on-air debut on MIX 106.3 in mid-2010 in the Drive-time slot, and more recently covering the vacant Breakfast shift. Carla ‘Biggzy’ Bignasca will be familiar to some listeners from her time co-hosting the Hot 30 Countdown and on the screen as a regular contributor to Channel 7’s Morning Show, Channel Nine’s Morning’s with Kerri-Anne Kennerley and 20-to-1. More recently Biggzy has been working behind the scenes producing both radio and television.

Canberra FM Radio Program Director, Drew Chapman says, “It’s always very exciting bringing a new on-air partnership to life but this time it’s all the more thrilling as we get to welcome back to the airwaves such a vibrant and switched-on personality as Biggzy.”

Eoghan O’Byrne, Canberra FM Radio General Manager adds, “Longtime and loyal listeners to MIX 106.3 will be pleased to know that the station will retain its live and local focus through the new Breakfast Show and will continue to appeal to families and carry on to act for the grass roots of the wider ACT community.” O’Byrne also says, “We will continue to serve Canberra as we are already famous for doing, but with a newly reinvigorated and fresh approach.”

‘Pete & Biggzy for Breakfast’ will air weekdays between 6am and 9am from Monday July 4th on MIX 106.3 Canberra.

In my 4 years living in Canberra I ahve despaired of ever finding a breakfast radio program that I could really enjoy
Scotty and Nige = 2 norty boys playing in the sanbox
Cam and Lisa = boring and banal
Pete and Bigsy = droll and fake and boring

Mix 106 could take a leaf out of NX FM’s Steve and Kim – these 2 had me roaring with laughter most mornings – seriously good fun and not at all pretentious….

I’m one of the old time radio listening brigade, and my car radio hasn’t moved from ABC News Radio since I discovered it a couple of years ago. Marius, Glen et al provide the most intelligent and occasionally dryly ironic news commentary that there is to be had.

And listening to Penny Wong calmly (always calmly) slice wotsername Nash, deputy leader of the Country party…excuse me…the National party… into tiny strips of bleeding meat recently was a true delight.

Off topic I know, but if there weren’t a few minor barriers (I’m a bloke, she’s a lesbian, I’m married, so’s she etc) I reckon I’d propose to Penny Wong.

Best part of 5 years, different hosts, and yet mornings are still taken up with the secret sound. It’s literally the headline attraction of their show. Bigzy’s endless boring chatter sure hasn’t done anything to improve things. Not sure changing co-hosts will either, they seem to just be picking blokes of increasing dishevelment. They’re not the worst, and I’m not expecting some NPR style discussion on Wittgenstein but “Joe & Bigzy: an even more inbred way to start your day” isn’t going to make me tune in either.

JOE & BIGGZY!

That didnt last long? Saying that I like Joe….

I think they got rid of the wrong half. I gave them a go, but after suffering through one too many stories about her boyfriend, I turned off.

Jeez, Pete & Bitgzy have GOT to be better than anything played on 1206 2cc radio. I stopped listening to them after they kept going on about the carbon tax and how it is the end of Australia, 5 months ago. Gave them another chance today – Blah blah blah carbon tax, blah blah blah Juliar Gillard carbon tax, blah blah drink Illy coffee blah blah carbon tax, Abott save us etc. Shut the FU about the carbon tax already – how do 2cc even stay affloat, do they actually have any listeners left?? Maybe it is the Sunday gardening show that sustains them (no politics and right wing BS just gardening tips).

So Pete and Biggzy are no more….now its (drum roll please……)

You could bloody grind steel with Bigsy’s voice. What was she said on her promo “I’m opininated”
No s*** Sherlock! Pete’s good, but she has to go.

Yep, she’s not bad for an old duck.

Mr Gillespie10:20 am 15 Jul 11

All breakfast radio (apart perhaps from the ABC) sux.

Biggzy looks sooooooo hot in that pic though! *mwah!*

Well, had a listen and wasn’t impressed. More of the same childish banter and stupid gimmicks that I can’t believe anyone would appreciate first thing in the morning. Might aswell have the other two back and that’s saying something. Won’t be bothering again.

Thanks for the new lineup MIX, after waking up with 106 for the past 10+ years and giving the new lineup a try, I have now found the justification to relace by bedside clock radio with a digital Radio so I can wake up to My Canberra Digital instead.

The program now sounds more like 104 than 104 does (probably fair enough given these two are younger than Scotty and Nige) – even down to the new traffic report and news intro themes. Dumb comments, pointless stings, retarded playlist, and worst of all the Biggsy Files – in fairness I shouldn’t comment about that segment as I’ve been switching over in the car for good as soon as I hear that drivel about celebrity nobodies.

Way to alienate your core audience guys!

I caught a bit of this this morning before switching over. The bloke exclaimed “RIDICULOUS!” at everything. Fair dinkum, he said it at least 5 times in about 2 minutes. So I went back to Scotty and Nige being rude about something.

Thoroughly Smashed2:17 pm 06 Jul 11

It’s no ABC News Radio Breakfast With Glen Bartholomew, Debbie Spillane & Marius Benson.

And that traffic guy that gives the traffic report for all capital cities, even though some of them have never needed it. Yeah, Canberra’s okay again at 6:30. Canberra’s always okay at 6:30.

And I’m not sure what was happening but there seemed to be a lot of echo or reverb on her voice. They were speaking with the Chief Minister this morning and every time Biggzy spoke it sounded like she was in an empty room and her voice was bouncing all over the place. It was very off putting.

I am hearing the same reverb-y thing. Sounds like she is in a tin can or something. Interesting question….is she even in Canberra yet or is she in another studio in Sydney, Melbourne or such and just phoning it in? Could explain why its a bit clunky at times.

Serious question – how much of the music is chosen by you guys and how much is on a playlist from head office?

Are you able to play Canberra artists?

That would be a good way to combat global warming, because – as we all know – commercial radio will support original local music when hell freezes over.

The person who reads out the traffic speaks so quickly i suspect its prerecorded and artifically sped up. if thats the case please modify the software to ‘legibly spoken’.

Sorry Pete, I listened every morning this week and the show is a big Yawn from me.

Nothing new and exciting. Same old format that has proven to have no entertainment value.

I did give it a try and had expectations that you both would liven up the airways but so far no good.

I’m happy to give it another go if I knew things had changed. ie you both need to lighten up and sound like you are enjoying your mornings. Tell a few jokes, take the mickey out of someone, be daring and bold..

Back to the MP3 player for a bit i guess. hmmmm

Muttsybignuts3:47 pm 04 Jul 11

Meh, I don’t listen to breakfast radio. My days start much better by driving to work with Children of Bodom at ear splitting levels.
However, I was at the local IGA getting some breakfast this morning and heard the $1000 give-away and I was impressed that they used some judgement and gave it away anyway because the caller did such a good job and only got an answer a little bit wrong. So good on em, I say.
And I agree that is a big pain in the arse when announcers constantly remind you who you are listening too although I imagine that is a directive from above.
I used to listen to Triple J although their new morning announcers are woeful. And, since the new work car has the delightfully retro 6 stacker CD I am rediscovering old classics…

Had a listen, not impressed, more changes still need to be made. Pete fell into the Cam trap (ex-106 and 104 announcer) and must have identified the station and show at least 1000 times during the 2 hours I listened – very irritating and why I switched off commercial morning radio in the first place. Bigsy, not overly impressed, but Canberra should give her a chance. The traffic reports, well, if there was more than who sponsered the traffic report it may be useful. Agree with the banter being relevant and something that you would want to listen to, thought Canberra radio would have learned that by now. For me, back to the big sports breakfast (2ky), cd’s and iPod.

I heard the last 15 or 20 minutes this morning. It seemed a bit forced to me but with time I’m sure things will have a more natural flow.

Pete has a good voice for radio but I really can’t say the same for Biggzy. And I’m not sure what was happening but there seemed to be a lot of echo or reverb on her voice. They were speaking with the Chief Minister this morning and every time Biggzy spoke it sounded like she was in an empty room and her voice was bouncing all over the place. It was very off putting.

SERIOUSLY – the best ad they could come up with for this was the two of them bantering about pronunciation of the letter “H”?? Was everyone’s brains on holidays when they came up with that? perhaps it was a ploy to set the bar so low that anything would seem good in comparison? Well if it was that it also failed as far as I am concerned – just more inane banter about nothing in particular, which while some people might find to their taste I am just over it

I listened to that & shared the same sentiment.

What I did like for the 10 minutes that I listened to the show this morning was there was no annoying “WAKE UP’ segment like Cam & Lisa had at 6:05 straight after the news, man that used to shit me.

The other thing I liked was that they played two songs in that time & not crap on for ages.

Give them time, they will settle in, it may not be Mary & Erica yet, they started out a bit sketchy if my memory servs me right. I think Marty went through two co-hosts before Erica hit the scene.

Heading to work I was listening to Mark Parton & guess who was on with him……Lisa Ridgely (SP?)!!!!

Like old times but without the clear transmission…………

You are kidding right ? 106 for young people? Mmwwhhhahahaha….. Apart from some uber main stream pop, they play music dumb people like.

Fixed it for you…

106 comes in two varieties:
– the morning show plays chart pop which appeals to 30-something’s with shit for brains who are trying to remain current.
– the rest of the day it plays “classic crap.”

Scotty and Nige summed it up nicely the other day when they suggested their listeners follow their lead and insert ear plugs for the next 3 minutes and 27 seconds while they play another song.

Just listened to Pete and Biggzy give away $1000 in the $1000 minute even though the caller didn’t get a question right. Not a good start guys. They changed the time too. This new line up isn’t grabbing me at all. Sorry but you will have to do a lot better.

Pete and Biggzy for breakfast? Who? Pete thanks for your introduction. It is obvious by your age that Mix106 is now a radio station for the under 30s. It used to be a station for older people but that now seems to have changed. I guess that’s why the previous hosts Cam and Lisa were taken off… now too old perhaps? I’m 42 and lived in Canberra all my life and I’m sorry Pete, but how the hell is a 25 year old guy from Perth going to be able to relate to me? I lived the 70s and 80s and its great music, I really don’t need a Gen Y telling me about it from what he’s read in a book. Goodbye Mix106, you obviously have no idea what people like myself would like to listen to for breakfast. You were once my favourite radio station and also popular with my peers… but all my favourite DJs have gone now and its simply become station for older kids, and we have all switched off. I wonder how old the person is who made this decision?

With all due respect and unbiased opinion that I, a 25 year old, affords anyone that I have not had the opportunity to meet myself – do you have children/have had children/do know or work with younger people?

I have nothing in particular against 106.3. I can’t believe anyone in the world would accuse them of pursuing the young audience.

Personally, I’m looking forward to it!

My Fiance and I live a fair way out (20Km further than Braidwood) and commute in daily, we both didn’t mind Cam & Lisa, but have each made the comment that we really enjoyed Pete’s work filling in.

So we are quite exited to hear he will be staying!

And to those who would rather listen to the ABC, i am noting a tone (from some, not all of you) that indicates you feel above this kind of radio station. Seriously, to each there own, for if we all enjoyed and did the same things, it would be a very boring world.

By the way ‘rupertjkendall’, did you miss this? It’s just under the submit comment box:

Always happy to welcome another fan 😉

No, wait, I’m only kidding. Good stuff this morning – and well done to both of you. Based on that, and the lunar alignment at the moment, I intend to have a regular listen (my wife is a great fan of the station so she will be tuned regularly).

As for they’re and their – yes, you are correct. We tend to get lazier in our written language sadly. You question as to whether I use english as a language in my profession? Of course not – I am a interpretor converting Klingon into Yidish (there is a surprising market for it here in Canberra you know!).

Take care.

LOL good call – I thought the same thing ;P

klingon interpretation!! hahahaha you’re kidding?! I’ve always wanted to learn klingon, even more so when I saw the guys on Big Bang Theory playing Klingon Boggle, an amalgamation of two great things! 😛

Cheers for that though Frots, all the best to you too, have a great weekend

Holy crap…………………………what a bummer family I have!

That gave me a good chuckle, and should take the edge off next time I hear a Hardly Normal ad.

G’day all and Pete and Biggzy.

I enjoy most of what 106 puts on except the annoying Better Homes and Garden show from 6-8am sat and the sports show from 8-10am, Plus you have the rugby show on as well. Too much sport, not enough music. Sorry but if I wanted to listen to sport and BH&G I would listen to another station.

Hate to be a kill joy but what happened to Lisa? Is she out of the picture or…..what?

The best part of Mix106.3 is the Saturday night party mix with no DJ’s. Any chance of having that every weekday morning 6-9am? Or maybe even 24/7? That’s the only way I’ll ever tune in.

Hey Pete, good luck with the new show.

I loved reading the comments about what “we” wanted to hear on your show. I can’t remember telling anyone what I liked and didnt like about Brekkie radio.

So here goes… I drive to work every morning between 7:45 and 8:30am. I have a choice of listing to ABC’s AM and would do so if something newsworthy is actually happening. Or I could be listening to the crew on 104 who I think are trying to appeal to the kids on their way to school and those who are home on the dole. But what I am looking for is entertainment. I used to enjoy listening to radio back in Melbourne stuck in traffic and hearing a format similar to the Afternoon show on 104 now. I think you know what i mean. Some good catchy music, a few laughs and something to make the drive to work less boring.

I agree with one of the earlier posters about Marty and Erica. They were the benchmark locally as many would agree and it hasnt been the same since. We also had Kilby and Uhlmann on ABC for a while and they were brilliant! A good mix of extertaining radio that made mornings fun.

So, I will give you guys a go and hopefully you will revolutionize the breakfast scene.

Happy sailing on the airwaves!

welcome pete & biggzy – i’ve been listening constantly since moving from Melbourne and love the mix especially the 80’s – but my gripe is the repetition as I listen from 7am-7pm and sometimes hear the same song 2 or 3 times – the ‘lazy’ song is driving me to the brink… there’s so much music to choose from – no need to repeat anything – just hearing it once a day is enough!

So from your description and info about Bigsy 106 is reducing the average age of their morning presenters. from what I could find Bigsy (once I heard her voice I did recognise it from top 30!) she knows what she is doing on radio.

Armchair critics? Definitely and we love it! but demographic wise we are all ages, backgrounds and interests. As soon as you make an assumption someone will pop up to prove you wrong. 🙂 Glad to see at least you are here and engaging with the rabble.

I will put my hand up and admit I listen to 106 in the mornings – graduated to 106 since Marty quit 104 many years ago. I have no time for the boffins on 104 in the mornings as I find them objectionable but 104 in other timeslots is OK. What I am looking for – fun, interesting interviews, music that includes the better current hits (the jury surveys help with the definition of better I imagine) and a little bit of classics from 80’s onwards. Lots of local content but not just focussed on school children (although families are a big listner group). Interviews with celebs have always been good.

Me – F40’s, public servant and trainer of dog owners, living on the opposite side of town from the radio station. Never been to ANU nor studied Arts – but will admit to a couple of stints at UCan.

Welcome to morning radio Pete, we will hear you both on Monday.

This is magnificent! This is exactly what I was talking about! It’s great to see this and it’s my solemn hope that you continue to have a voice, whether it be here..

or more importantly, on the show. We wanna hear from you if you don’t agree with something, we want the argument because that is the crux of what we’re about. Having that challenge there – and all the better if you tear me to pieces with a solid argument! I’m really looking forward to being able to provide you with a reason a) to listen, and b) to interact, for without listeners with a strong point of view and great arguments to back them up, we are just another show.

We start July 4th.

Thankyou very much for the welcome.

And let me be the first to welcome you to breakfast on Mix 106.3

🙂

Good to see something finally happen in this slot! I have to say Pete has been a breathe of fresh air over the last few weeks so it is good that he will be continuing! I was scared they would bring Mark Parton back…..

Good luck to Pete and Bigsy!

Hi Pete,

I’ve been listening to you regularly over the past few weeks, and have to say you are a breath of fresh air. Your daily banter with Kristen has been a real highlight.

FM Brekky radio in this town has been below average since the days of Marty Haynes and Erica Hodge on FM104.7 a few years back. I have heard snippets of Biggzy on the Hot 30, and think she’ll be the perfect fit with you in the breakfast.

Best of luck to the both of you, am looking forward to the show.

P.S. Great to hear Joe Gleeson back on MIX too, or ‘Not the Average Joe’ as he was once known when last on MIX.

Wow tough crowd eh Pete, all these people who adamantly don’t listen to breakfast radio but are going to hate the show anyway, or the others that hate the show b4 it’s been on.

It’s kiddie FM so I hate it 🙂

Since Pete wants us to say what we want to hear on local breakfast radio, here goes:

* Interviews with local politicians

* No left wing bias and no pandering to the climate change brigade

* Political satire

* News bulletins with only the news and no smart arse comments

* No prefabricated “music” which falls in a heap and is completely bland without the expensively produced video

* No moronic “crazy calls” or giggly carry-on

* No airheaded bimbos and no contrived banter or repartee between the hosts

* Segments about sport, motoring and history

Oh, hold on I get all that from the 2CC breakfast show so I’ll continue to assume the FM band doesn’t exist.

While suggestions were asked for and are great to see, perhaps similar responses should include some basic demographic info (e.g. M 40-45) so Pete etc could work out suggestions that fit into their target audience. i.e. I assume they are catering to a certain market and are unlikely to make major changes to suit another audience anyway?
Alternatively, perhaps Pete should specify which audience in particular (regarding his program/station – and their advertising) they would be more likely to listen to suggestions from? Then all other suggestions/complaints could be basically ‘filtered’ as they are never going to be happy with the station’s offerings anyway?
Is MIX aimed at 18-40ish? I think they were once aimed older, but have changed to be similar to 104 now?

people other than tradies listen to breakfast radio? I thought mp3 players had killed it.

Reminds me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=De8tnb2uybQ&t=1m9s

(#5 – completly agree), best of luck in your new breakfast show.

.

Queensland’s Griffith University surveyed more than 3,000 Australians across the country and found 74 per cent believe the world’s climate is changing and 90 per cent believe human activities are playing a role.

The research found less than 6 per cent of Australians are true climate change sceptics.

A survey by the Pew Research Center shows that 84% of all scientists believe that global warming is due to human activity.

Another similar poll by Gallup from January of last year found that 97% of publishing Climatologists believed in human-driven climate change.

Given this, I’d suggest you continue to listen to Alan Jones. If you want to listen to uninformed nutsacks bang on about how it’s all some gigantic conspiracy of evil left-wing scientists he’s probably your best bet.

Mix 106.3 has been playing a really good mix of music in the morning recently… the lazy song, last night and maybe. I have been waking up to one of those 3 and then when I’m driving to work another of those 3 songs 🙂 plus some other good songs.

and the converstation on Mix 103 isn’t as inane as 104.7 Breakfest show.

Pete I like you and I listen to your show every morning from like 6:30 am to almost 9am.

if you look at radio stations the equivelent of 103 and 104 are all owned by the same company all over the country. 🙂

Thanks Pete…had never heard of you until this blog. I wont be listening to the show simply because I don’t listen to breakfast radio…it’s the pits for the very reasons you mentioned. Why is it that wannabe radio personalities believe that people want to to know who they are, what they think and why they think it? Who gives a rat’s clacker?

I suppose people that are interested in another’s opinion, enjoy a laugh on the way to work or take pleasure in phoning someone to offer their input on a topical conversation give a ‘rat’s clacker’. Whether or not their humour/conversation topic is your cup of tea is your own personal opinion, but perhaps providing breakfast teams with constructive feedback instead of throwing them into ‘the pits’ could result in some changes in your favour.

Also… a radio personality quite literally is someone behind the mic with a personality. I have been lucky enough to listen to both Pete and Biggzy (obviously in their separate environments) and they both have loads of energy and personality, which I can only imagine would be difficult to convey from one side of the microphone to the other side of the speaker. As such, they are not ‘wannabe’ radio personalities they are radio personalities, like it or not.

Wishing you the best Pete and Biggzy, I think you’ll make a great team 🙂

hahaha you come to expect it in the biz and you deal with it Rangi. We’re all guilty of it though. Being from WA, a huge AFL state, I hated Rugby League and Rugby Union with a passion. My boss sat me down lastnight and made me watch the State of Origin and I instantly converted! Love the game and now find myself proudly wearing blue hahaha
Let them have a dig, we’re having a good laugh here firing people up 😛 and it’s a good read for everyone else.

It is very unlikely that I will be listening to the show (I am not generally interested in listening to either MIX106’s playlist, nor ads at that time of morning), but I do wish you both the best of luck with your program. I like supporting local people (be it business or the arts) as much as possible.

This thread did prompt me to google the station, and I was surprised to learn that 104.7 and 106.3 are owned by the same joint venture. I was a little surprised that is/was allowed, but I guess we are just too small a market when it comes to this kinda business.

Cheers p1, that’s awesome of you to say mate and we hope we can do it justice. Yes we are a joint venture owned by Southern Cross and ARN and we do all work in the same building.

It’s always funny first thing in the morning between us and the 104 guys, wishing eachother a terrible show (although not as nicely as I’ve just said it) haha

As much as we are competitors in the market, we all get along really well.

Again, my thanks to you mate, regardless of whether you listen it’s great of you to say that and much appreciated.

Wow tough crowd eh Pete, all these people who adamantly don’t listen to breakfast radio but are going to hate the show anyway, or the others that hate the show b4 it’s been on.

That is a very good question mate. I don’t ever think I’ve called myself a radio personality before. Ironically enough, it’s everyone else who actually gives that term to us. Although it’s probably the same reason I could ask the question ‘why is it that people who don’t listen to the radio enjoy telling people who are on radio that they don’t listen to the radio” lol. We’re just people who’ve been given an opportunity. It’s fine if you don’t listen. We’re not there with a tazer gun forcing you to do it mate haha 😉

106.3 is my favourite Canberra station. It’s a pity Mark Parton is no longer there. I stopped listening regularly when he left.

Good to see the tradition of armchair bloggers who have been the cornerstone of what is now a generation of critics instead of people who work hard to become leaders is still alive and well – even if you are a minority.

You are however, the people I most enjoy hearing from, cos you are a challenge, and I see we have a long way to earn your respect.

Which is perfect – cos it gives me yet another goal to achieve.

As you can see, I’m not anonymous, this is Pete Curulli from Mix 106.3.

I want you to know who I am, I want you to know what I think, why I think it, and how it’s thought, because I want the exact same from you – it’s why I watch the RiotACT forums, because I for one enjoy the fact that people have an opinion – even if it is premature.

btw – @Frustrated – I’d be sticking with the iTouch with a username like that too

😉

Well hello Pete – and indeed welcome. Not too sure about the ‘armchair critics’ comment, you may find that a lot of us actually do work and some of us actually are ‘leaders’ in their chosen professions. Some who have now retired were – and of course many, many others are simply citizens who can have a voice on equal terms in this forum.

But you’ll pick that up as you go. Good luck to both of you with the program – and look forward to you jumping on here with a word or two.

Thankyou “The Frots”, I’m sure the majority of people on these forums are professionals, I see a lot of intelligent stuff on here, it keeps me interested, otherwise I wouldn’t waste my time.

And honestly, this isn’t getting up my goat, I am, after all, just being another of the “citizens who can have a voice on equal terms in this forum”

As I said, I love this stuff as it makes my day a lot more interesting than it already is.

You sound like one of these professionals that you talk about, wouldn’t mind seeing a picture of you so I can judge whether you’d be worth taking seriously in your profession 😉

Regarding your comment “that picture doesn’t do her any favours in making me want to listen to her!” – I’ll see if we can find you a better one 😉 hahaha

Regarding your other comment “Ahhh…………………..so their dead!”.. in this context I believe it’s spelt ‘they’re’.. which is hilarious as we at the station we’re having this conversation just this morning about people’s difficulty with this! 😀

Let’s pray your profession has nothing to do with english

I do really look forward to a chance meeting one day! Don’t take this too seriously, my job is to pick apart arguments and Canberra’s always begging for intelligent conversation – it’s good fun debating with you!!! 😀

Tell you what – here’s a bit of background so you guys know a little bit about who you’re listening to, and so you have more ‘fodder’ 😛 haha

I’m 25, I’m from Western Australia, I have a Bachelor of Commerce: Double major in marketing and advertising completed with final year honours from the best Business school in Perth (mind you it is Perth so don’t take that too seriously…… hahaha)
I own and run my own Marketing Consultancy company, Instinct, and was involved in many leadership and speaking seminars for school kids back in Perth to help them grow up to be mature kids with respect.
Only 2 years ago I developed a strategic campaign that acquired 8000 members in 3 weeks, 6 partnering business, and involved two large parties that raised a lot of money for Telethon. Perth’s biggest charity that raised in excess of 10 million dollars over two days just last year – the money of which goes straight to the kids of Princess Maragret Hospital – although the payoff was that I had to legally change my name to “Optimus Prime” – but it was worth it.
I will “pick that up as (I) go” as I am one of these professionals you speak of, much like yourself.
Since the age of 12 I was involved in the family business, a chain of Fresh Seafood stores in Perth known as Curulli’s Seafood Markets, where I was taught good manners, a strong sense of responsibility, and the joy that comes from working hard for something.. although cutting fish for a living makes you appreciate sitting behind a mic enough as it is 😉
I was taught that a fair sense of play did not come from looks alone. I can vouch that Biggzy is worth listening to, she’s intelligent, witty, experienced across a broad spectrum of professional media and well deserved of this opportunity.
You’ll love her.
Community is important to both of us and we hope we can contiinue Mix’s proud tradition of putting smiles on the faces of people who are doing it tough by helping them out.

Finally, the “armchair critics” comment stands, it doesn’t apply to everyone and the smart people will work that out – you’ll find that I don’t sit on the fence and I don’t go back on what I’ve said.

And if I’m wrong – feel free to prove it, the public knows the number.

Now please, tell me about yourself! 😀 I wanna know about the people we’ll be speaking to day in and day out, particularly the ones with a strong voice and well thought out opinions like yourself, you’re the ones I find most interesting.

I look forward to an opportunity at a chance meeting one day and to shake your hand. 🙂

So I’ve noticed

62421063 isn’t a hard number to remember, between 6a and 9a, always happy to hear from the people themselves about why we’re not good enough.

Hell, here’s a question for them now:

Go ahead guys – “what would you do if you were sitting behind the mic?/What do you wanna hear from a new CANBERRAN based breakfast show?”

And where do you guys work? Canberra’s a quiet town and I like to make noise, you wouldn’t even have to leave your desks, I’ll come to you with a mic

pink little birdie9:15 am 16 Jun 11

Pete is funny.. and at least this thread somewhat clears up what happened to Cam and Lisa… I was confused when I woke up and there were different announcers doing the show.

If only they would get rid of the gotcha calls… I always turn my radio off for them.

Frots – no idea why but Lisa declined the offers and resigned, she is currently on a trip to Egypt.

It is sad how radio treats women in this day and age.

Cool – thanks for that.

Who cares for radio anymore.

Itouch all the way for me.

So I was patiently waiting for the end of Pete. But apparently that’s not going to happen. So time to find a new station.

Good to see they’re sticking to the tradition of not allowing the hosts more than three syllables between them.
