If this is the Divine you are referring to, you have bigger issues than beer goggles…

Hahahahahahaa

The problem with that carpark is that it is also a major thoroughfare linking Divine Court/Botany St with Hindmarsh Drive. If you are in Phillip trades centre and you need to buy petrol you need to drive through that section to get to the gas stations near the Melrose/Hindmarsh Dr intersection. I’m surprised there aren’t many more accidents there.

People drive too fast in car parks, as a parent I think it’s one o f the most dangerous times, getting kids in and out of the car.

Don’t forget it’s not just cars in a car park!

What an astute observation, presumably that’s why you posted it twice.

CT saying speed wasn’t an issue

Doesn’t take much speed to kill you.

Especially at 84 years of age.

And yeah, I see d bags doing dumb shit in that car park all the time. Going really fast even though there is speed humps. Parking on the side next o entrance because all parks are taken. It’s a small crappy car park but its not like there is loads around within walking distance.

What? Across the road in Divine Ct?

Idk what you are asking me?

Parking; there is heaps in Diving Court.

Is that the loop behind it? Yeah always parks there and further away but still easy o walk to.

Based purely on the media reports, this is a rotten outcome to an apparently menial traffic accident.

Reports have said that the victim was calling out “Stop” prior to the impact. As others have pointed out, it is with dificulty that a vehicle is able to run into a parked vehicle in this carpark, in line with the parked vehicle, given the very resricted manouvering room available. This is a horrible occurence, and my sympathies to the families of both.

And apologies, seems I’ve bollocksed up the quote tags and got the attributions arse-about.

I think KB1971 was pointing out the dozens of (usually empty) spots there, all within walking distance.

Same as bicycle collision thread. If peeps were paying attention this crap wouldn’t happen.

Sad, but true.

Terrible news. What a way to end such a long life, with no chance to say goodbye to family and friends.

With pedestrians walking all over car parks, loaded with kids and shopping, and blind angles everywhere, the only sensible speed is a slow walking pace.

CT saying speed wasn’t an issue

I saw the position of the cars on the news late last night. If you remember the car park between Magnet Mart & John McGrath ford, there is enough room to park a row of cars & just enough roomfor two cars t pass each other in opposite directions.

Anyway, there was a Jeep with it arse planted firmly on the bonnet of another car as if it reversed at speed straight into it, only it would not be able to due to Magnet mart being where it is.

So somehow this Jeep managed to reverse at speed into another car with limited space & taking the old guy out with it.

Farktardery of the month it seems.
