Phillip Laundromat Fire

ACT Fire Brigade on scene at a small fire in a laundromat on Botany Street, Phillip.

Fire has been extinguished.

Three pumpers, the Breathing Apparatus van, the Bronto Skylift Hydraulic Platform and a Command vehicle on scene.

Crews currently ventilating the premise.
Some fire and smoke damage to laundromat with minimal damage to surrounding businesses.

No occupants in building at time of fire.

Crews alerted following an Emergency Triple Zero (000) call at 11.56pm.

ACT Fire Brigade fire investigators will investigate the cause.

Update on small fire extinguished at Phillip laundromat Estimated damage $100,000.

Cause deemed to be from contents of a dryer which was operational at the time.

Who locked up the place at night, without turning the dryers off?

At least the fireys didnt have to go far to put the fire out, it’d almost be quicker to walk there than drive the truck.
