Phoenix: Rise and Reign event is on this Saturday

This Saturday, The Fearless Female and Anchor & Willow are hosting Phoenix – Rise and Reign, an inspiring luxurious night out, showcasing some of the fearless females in our community.

The event is a collaboration between Ruth Marquez from The Fearless Female and Jade Smith of Anchor & Willow.

“Originally, this was two separate ideas with different purposes and intentions,” says Ruth, “but once put together it has turned into something much bigger than we had ever imagined!”

The Phoenix is a mystical and majestic bird admired for its beauty and ability to start a new cycle of life. Ruth wants women to tap into the Phoenix characteristic within themselves.

Her passion is linking women together, empowering women and seeing the resulting transformation.

Jade hopes the event will raise brand awareness and highlight the talent of local designers and retailers.

“As a small boutique in Canberra it can be hard to compete; we need more of a voice. I wanted to give some smaller boutiques a chance to get their designs on a runway.”

 

Canberra-based activewear designer, Daniella, is excited to see her designs on the catwalk.

“Nights like this give local creatives an opportunity to feature their work while contributing to the greater good of the community,” she says.

“I am also super excited for this event because The Fearless Female group is all about women supporting women.”

Models will strut the catwalk during the evening, sporting creations by five local designers and retailers.

Jade’s online shopping hub Anchor & Willow injects bohemian flair and colour into the corporate grey of Canberra.

Bianca Pavlic’s handmade clothing label focuses on women’s casual and festival wear. Bianca creates custom pieces, unique to the individual.

Pearl Madison Boutique, an online, pre-loved designer boutique, sources high-quality fashion labels and sells them at affordable prices. Their mission is to make all women feel a million dollars without the price tag.

We Are Found Active is activewear; inspired by fashion, designed for training, fashion wear meets functionality. The brand is an expression of Daniella’s desire to help others find happiness and health.

Peach Bud is an online boutique sourcing unique feminine corporate wear.

The catwalk is just the beginning of the fun at Phoenix: Rise and Reign. Enjoy champagne and canapes, live entertainment and empowerment speeches. Support a variety of local retailers at the Night markets and capture Insta-worthy photo opportunities!

On the night, Ruth and Jade are supporting Endometriosis Australia and their relentless work and research to find a cure to this debilitating disease. A donation from every ticket will be going towards Endometriosis Australia.

Jade tells me that she knows far too many women struggling with this disease. “It is prevalent,” she says.

“Women’s reproductive health is so important. I am thankful for the fantastic work Endometriosis Australia are doing.”

Donna from Endometriosis Australia is grateful for the awareness that events like Phoenix: Rise and Reign brings to this invisible disease.

“My objective is to give a voice to the 730,00 women who have Endometriosis. It begins with awareness. Practitioners, patients, families and work places need to understand the debilitating impact of Endo.”

She says much-needed funds go towards ongoing research to find an end to the disease.
