Hi all,

I’m looking for someone in the Kambah area who would be interested in giving casual weekly/fortnightly piano lessons to my (almost) 9 yr old daughter. You wouldn’t necessarily have to be an accredited teacher, maybe it would suit a uni student who would be looking for some extra cash and available one evening – and we would come to you. I’m happy to pay up to $20 per lesson (30 mins). Daughter already does formal singing lessons and would love to be able to accompany herself one day – we are just looking for someone who could show her the basics, reading music, correct finger positions etc without the pressure of exams or recitals at this stage. If you are interested I would love to hear from you.

The going rate for most music lessons is about $25-30 per lesson at the moment.

Suggest you contact the School of Music and either see if they’ll put up an ad (some unis have a sort of employment register), or go out yourself and put an ad on their noticeboard – bound to be plenty of last year piano students who could use some cash.

Try contacting the various music stores around town. People providing lessons often advertise their services / leave their contact details at such stores.
