Piercing places in Canberra?

I know there’s a few threads about this but as far as I can tell, none from this year / late last year, so I thought it might be worth asking around since apparently Justin’s is now closed etc.

I’m thinking of a navel piercing – I’ve had 3 cartilage ones done at Redpath and 1 with Justin. All were $60, but my last one was way back in 2009.

So: What would you recommend? Any idea what prices are looking like?

And if anyone’s had a navel done recently – did your piercer include internal or externally-threaded jewelry with the piercing?

+1 for Freestyle.
Got my navel done there about 8 months ago and couldn’t have been happier. The guy there was great – it’s straight and he took plenty of time to do it. As soon as I walked in it smelled sterile and they were very welcoming. Sat me down afterwards and gave me a glass of water and made sure I was fine before leaving.
It didn’t get infected either. Cost me $60. Very happy.

Alright, Freestyle it is – I think I rather pay $5-10 more and get it done with a professional piercer – no offence intended about the hairhouse warehouse suggestion 🙂

Thanks! 🙂

Freestyle in Civic is very good, and they recently changed their prices and it’s now only 55 for most things, I believe navel too, that’s the cheapest of all the piercing/tattoo parlors. I’d go to a parlor over a hairdresser any day. Most everywhere else it’ll be $60.

You’d be hard pressed to find anyone that would use internally threaded jewelry, they might have it but it’s still not the standard they use around here even if it is much better. You’ll probably end up with it externally threaded, and it really won’t make too huge of a difference, it’s not like you’ll be changing it for a little while and that’s really the only time it makes a difference between the two.

I got mine done at Redpath a few years back and that’s what they used. I’d go to Freestyle instead if I was doing it again, it’s a bit wonky from Redpath. The guy at Freestyle is better in my opinion. I’ve got 13 piercings so I’ve tried out most of the parlors here.
