Pimp my Police Car

They say that imitation is a form of flattery but I would counter that by saying that only if you choose your targets wisely.

ABC online bring us this news that a teenager has been caught impersonating police in Richardson over the weekend. Not content with the normal pimped out ride you see about town, this enterprising individual decided that red and blue flashing lights on the dash, a siren and a two way radio in their white holden commodore would be a far better option. For what purpose is anyones guess.

I highly doubt they would be outsourcing to an 18 year old in a 89 Holden VN Commodore? Bearing NSW license plates?!

See pictures at the links!

Apparently they’ve suspended the trialled outsourcing, because of negative publicity.

@spoonbill – I am running a black px200 with silver trim.

According to the AFP website, another (I can only assume another) ass clown has been arrested for the same sort of thing. Went into the shops at Lyons, dressed in blue garb, and went on a theiving spree (probably tried to grab the CT without paying, like anyone pays for it anyway).

This bloke has been charged with cause harm to an official, resisting arrest, + others, so there must have been a struggle!

Only in Canberra. Gold.

Where is your sources from Ant???

This person could barely be an outsource because clearly he is 18 years of age.

Also the Chief of TIG wouldn’t make a statement and a media release and still leave it up if they were incorrect – the usual thing to do is to cover there arses.

I highly doubt they would be giving an 18 year old a police car with a fake afp badge! Pull my other leg!

He’s probably read the Riot Act about the rock thrower in the blue holden and thought he could become a Special Constable and track her down. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riot_Act

Didn’t you get the memo? They were meant to have circulated it via the usual channels during the week. That’s probably why he got arrested, they stuffed up the communication.

I’m assuming thats a joke ant……..

Actually, the poor chap is due a big apology from the Police. Apparently, he is part of a pilot program, to outsource Policing to contractors.

Would be funny if he pulled over the wrong car and got his arse kicked for his troubles. Most people are law abiding citizens that do the right thing although there are plenty out there who don’t like Police and don’t care for the lack of consequences through the Courts.

@serendipity Did I miss something in this post? Where does it say that he was pulling over cars and flashing “crudely made AFP ID badge”’s?

To me, that seems kinda funny, God bless him.

From my experience, some the legit AFP members could be accused of impersonating a Police officer.

and dont forget HE was pulling over cars pretending to be the real deal complete with “crudely made AFP ID badge” and HE thought it was all rather a big joke. Me thinks the joke is going to be well and truly on HIM. It only makes normal people very wary of being stopped by unmarked police cars of which there seems to be quite a few now. (read previous posts on this subject). Whilst I dont like being pulled over by the police either at least they are just doing a job where this cretin is doing no good from any angle. I wonder can the hoon squad seize his car for that? Sounds like a good idea to me if they could.

I wasn’t aware that having a 2 way radio and internal lights inside your white commodore holden vehicle was illegal.

Until he attempts to pull over an individual, or misdirect the public, he’s just like any other random on the road.

18 yr old…..driving a Commodore decked out like a cop car…. Presuming he lives at home, you have to wonder about his parents???

I wonder if I could put flashing lights on my vespa and pass for a motorcycle cop?

I think the Police tend to take a dim view of this kind of behaviour!

ahh, but how do you know it was man s4anta?

too many bongs and blue heelers marathons for this young man.
