Pinnacle Burn Wednesday

Territory and Municipal Services are giving notice that they’re torching off the Pinnacle tomorrow.

Territory and Municipal Services wishes to advise the public that (weather permitting) a controlled burn will be conducted tomorrow, Wednesday 4 July 2012, in bushland within The Pinnacle Nature Reserve in Hawker.

The burn is approximately one hectare in size and is a continuation of a series of small ecological burns that commenced in late-June 2012.

This ecological burn is part of a joint project between Friends of The Pinnacle and ACT Parks and Conservation Service to investigate the effects of fire, in addition to other control methods, on weeds and grasslands within The Pinnacle Nature Reserve.
