Pizza Hut Gungahlin, Closed for good??

Anyone know what the go is with Pizza Hut Gungahlin?

Been shut now for almost a week, with no notices (although I have not checked tonight).

Not a big deal, just interested whether they were closed down due to poor service (especially in the last few months).

The only sign on the door was telling customers to go to Domino’s, but considering it was stuck on the outside, I guessed it was Dominoes being cheeky at their expense….

Also anyone know what business is moving in next to Magnet Mart?? (near the roundabout) . I am sure everyone has been watching the building as you go through the roundabout each week.

Regards

Bob

should go to pizza cappers instead, yes they are a little bit more expensive, but the pizzas are great you can actually tell what is on them and the customer service is the best around 😀

Pity, Pizza Hut make better pizzas than Dominoes. Dominoes does better advertising and specials but.

But what?

The place going up near Magnet Mart is a Doctors Surgery (so I have been told by Magnet Mart employees)

That’s just bizarre then. There are only two surgeries now (the ones on and around Hibberson), but the health centre out the back is almost done and I saw signs for more surgeries opening in the new Kmart bit in Gungahlin Place.

There are three surgeries now with the one above Big W but the health centre will presumably attract more people with health problems so more doctors. If the Magnet Mart building is one it would be one of those clinics where you get bulk billed and they give you enough hours to wait that you can plan out a new life where you can afford to go to a fee paying doctor who has appointments.

You should be cheering. Might be more expensive, but making your own pizzas at home is way better.

I like making my own and they certainly are better. But that means you need to have (or get) the ingredients, chop them up, cook them and clean up afterwards.

Sometimes on a Saturday night you just want the convenience of making a quick phone call and then two glasses of shiraz later your pizza turns up at your front door.

I thought that building next to Magnet Mart might be an Officeworks, with the colour of the facade

The last few months (probably longer), Pizza Hut was getting worse….the staff didn’t appear interested, with the longer term staff in the kitchen, and the usual newbie out the front fending off customers complaining about time (they say 30min when busy, but ends up almost 60min), and giving away bottles of drink, free garlic breads, and sometimes desserts just to placate the customer….

They don’t listen and get the order wrong….or you get someone elses pizza…….

Oh well….I think many could see that coming…

CurlyLocks, thanks for the heads up on that building….interesting place for it….not what you would expect, but explains the fancy facade…

they quickly went from best pizza (when they and dominos were the only game in town) to second worst after the competition opened.

Commercial fast food franchises are not the license to print money that many people think they are. If you get a big, well placed Maccas you’d probably do ok, but pizza is highly competitive with heaps of focus on keeping cost down.

Pity, Pizza Hut make better pizzas than Dominoes. Dominoes does better advertising and specials but.

Probaby supply v demand – 5 pizza shops within Gungahlin Town Centre is just over supply
