Please help a little lost lamb find his way home!

Hi all – long time reader but first time poster here. I’ve seen some heart-warming stories on RiotAct and am really hoping mine will be one of them!

I currently have a very miserable 18 month old, as a result of losing his best friend this afternoon at Costco. The best friend is ‘Lamby’ – a well worn, adored little white stuffed lamb toy, with sewn on button eyes (due to the original eyes being chewn off!) and a well chewed nose. One minute he was with us, the next he’d been thrown on the ground, and somehow he disappeared before I turned around to grab him.

My son and Lamby have been through thick and thin together, and I’m praying that somehow somebody reading this might have found him (I’m imagining maybe a child picked him up – nobody would intentionally take him as he’s pretty manky and seen much better days!). Nobody has turned him in to lost and found yet – so, figured it wouldn’t hurt to try looking further afield.

I’ll be eternally grateful if anybody is able to help reunite my very sad little boy (and his very frazzled mother) with a little lost lamb – it’ll be sleepless nights at our house until he finds his way home 🙁

The idea that you leave your number (for something you’ve lost, or something you’ve asked to be notified of, or something you’ve placed an order for, or something you’ve returned for repairs, etc) and then somebody will ring that number is very optimistic.
I’m glad it all worked out anyway. 🙂

I actually dug out ‘original Lamby’, which I took away from him when I realised he was chewing the eyes out – I cut out the eyes and sewed buttons on so he’d look like lost Lamby….but, he wasn’t fooled and we’ve had two very restless nights 🙁

But, it seems we’ve had an Easter miracle and Lamby has risen from the dead!! I went out to Costco this afternoon prepared to get down on my hands and knees and look under every shelf in the place if I had to……but, miraculously, he’d turned up in lost and found (despite them having my number, they hadn’t called me) – so, a huge thankyou to whoever turned him in 🙂

I’ve learned my lesson though – if I ever have another child it’s just going to have to learn to be tough from day one – no more comforters in this house! *lol*

Nuh – won’t be fooled. You could buy a similar one and say that it’s Lamby’s cousin Lambkins who has come to keep your toddler company while Lamby is away for a while. Lambkins will be able to talk to Lamby like an imaginary friend! By the time it’s time for Lamby to be back, toddler will have found a new attachment to Lambkins … and is probably just too young to remember the detail after a year or so!

Do you think that buying a new toy (and sewing similar eyes on) would fool your son? If the new one is cleaner than the old one tell him someone gave it a bath. This seems a good time to tell a lie to make him feel better and an 18 month old is probably going to believe it.
