Spelling … I have noticed on this site that what you type is not always what you get. Really need to proof read before POST as either my fingers don’t work well at this time of night [there goes my job at Tilleys!] or its the square I’m typing in. Did the thing Belinda, but there was a section where scaling was off. I hope you are not too sad about that.

Yes the misspelling of “losing” spelled as “loosing” or “looseing” will always intrigue me. I have seen many well educated people and great spellers make this mistake numerous times. It just looks obviously wrong when out of context and I don’t know how they don’t pick up on it and correct accordingly.

Ah yes Maelinar, assuming I’m a logical thinker, that would make sense. For those times when I’m completely illogical, then the term VERY WELL would simply mean that I’m not suffering from African trypanosomiases.

I found it very subjective as well CanberraResident. I kind of just auto-assumed that far to the left was in the negative, and far to the right was in the positive, regardless of the ‘very well’ etc.

Thumper, they *can* spell them, they just don’t know the difference between the two – just like all the people in the motoring threads who are constantly slamming on their “breaks”.

Are you sure this isn’t a scientology “personality test”?

If I was marking your project for a postgraduate degree you would fail (You better hope that the person marking your work doesnt read this site)

Given the quality of your work as a student, replete with self confessed errors and mistakes, I would hate to be a paying client seeking assistance.

Let loose the data you’ve collected, I say. Or else you’ll lose it.

BelindaJ,

Dont take it too much to heart. You’ve got a particularly critical crowd here.

Not upset at all. Actually, you could say I am VERY WELL …

I apologise for the ALL the typos!!! I guess I should learn to slow down my speed until my accuracy picks up- Once a poll goes live I can’t change anything about it without loosing all the data I’ve collected. So once again sorry if this upsets people, but thanks for participating anyway.

A DREGREE is what the Dregs get after going to Uni.

CanberraResident10:17 am 17 Apr 08

What’s a dregree?

What’s the difference between “almost never” and “sometimes”?

What is cicling?

Why are there 3 million questions?

Why are there so many spelling mistakes?

Do you know what a paragraph is? (ref introductory paragraph)

When asked “I seldom feel ashamed of myself?”, how does the answer VERY WELL make sense??? (There are numerous examples of your answers not making sense to the question. It should be asked in such a way that the answers make sense.)

How do I get back the 5 minutes I just spent on this survey?

Number 4 is my favourite number … what’s yours?

All the best with your dregree (sic), I’ll look out for you when you graduate, coz if I keep taking surveys like this, I’m gonna need the professional help.

VERY WELL then, I’m outta here!

“mmmmmm, did the survey but ended up despondant at the number of spelling and grammatical errors.”

lol neander, it’s “despondent”.

I would have done the survey, belindaJ, but if you’re not even committed enough to make sure the questions are spelt right then you are really wasting my time.

All answered. Good thing I just finished, as ACA just started on TV, and I think I was about to get very depressed that I’m watching that sh*t… 🙂

That was fun. I like talking about myself!!

There’s only one thing that pisses me off more than failure, that’s being asked the same question over and over.

I find it increadibly hard to answer those hypotheticals with any degree of confidence that the way i am interpreting it is the way someone else might.

hairy nosed wombat4:37 pm 16 Apr 08

damm, forgot to run a spell check before hitting post.

“And how about splitting your privacy statement in 3 or 4 paragraphs. “

And how about splitting your pruivacy statement in 3 or 4 paragraphs.

Done.

neanderthalsis4:25 pm 16 Apr 08

mmmmmm, did the survey but ended up despondant at the number of spelling and grammatical errors.

neanderthalsis4:15 pm 16 Apr 08

I think JR was asking if it is a Scientologists personality test rather that wanting specific feedback. He beat me to it as I was going to ask someting similar being the smart arse that I am.

At Q30 I’m always distracted by my boss (before and after lunch). So?

At Q 31-34 I break something at work then hide it? How can I answer a question based on a hypothetical that doesn’t happen? I break things a lot. I never hide them.

I’m finding it very hard to answer these ‘honestly’, because I keep thinking “Well I’ll answer X, but I’d qualify it this way”.

At Q 35 I now give up. Who says I wasn’t attentive to my best friend? I hate it when surveys put feelings into my head and words into my mouth.

Sorry you found it confusing…. unfortunately the scales I’m using are published and I can’t change them……. thanks for participating though

Hi Belinda, the scale you have used makes it very confusing to answer from q10 onwards. You have used “somewhat” as 3 and “a little” as 5 and my tiny brain cannot handle the fact that they are either side of “don’t know”. I think you need to have different scales for different types of questions.

sorry.

Will I get a report back that outlines my OT level?

Yes, unfortunately “Skidbladnir” is right….. asking repetitive questions is necessary to ensure reliability and to access subtle differences within the dimensions I’m measuring.
Thank you both soo much (and everyone else who has participated!) I really appreciate it- If you know anyone else who might be interested please give them the link- cheers

They’re all measuring different but similar dimensions of pain\suffering\shame or other self critical things.

Statistical analysis for populations really are that dull.

Belinda, you ask more similar questions than a public service selection criteria.

It is actually quite hard to sustain a level of volunteerism without turning into a silly bugger when you are asked 10 times in a row but in different ways about how you feel when you are feeling sad etc.
