p.s. my response had one expletive, and I’m sorry that it wrecked your life.

Actually, everyone I heard at the rally today was perfectly articulate if not completely used to public speaking and prone to throwing in the occasional slightly awkward ‘youse’. These are not stupid people, but they are letting their message (which I still am not a hundred percent sure what that is and I’ve been reading about it all day!) be clouded by far right Christian groups, climate change deniers, and people who go off their balls about Hitler and the Queen being secret environmentalist besties.

They’ve allowed their actual message to be lost amid this cuckoo hubub of convoys, crazy claims (that they then spin and backflip on! “It was our plan all along to have a convoy with no trucks in it!”) and groups who will tack on to anything to get their message across. Or maybe it’s just me that is having trouble finding the parallels between a carbon tax and same sex marriage. They want the government to leave them alone and stop telling them what to do and they also want to tell people who they’re allowed to marry.

Drop in a handful of fear mongering shock jocks who are specifically paid to cause this kind of panic that sees all these people completely displanting their lives, not going to work and driving themselves and their families across the country to be told their double dissolution is unconstitutional, which they already knew, so they can go home with their heads held high, like the guys in Cool Runnings carrying their bobsled over the line. We didn’t get what we wanted, but we sure showed them they can’t mess with the little guy!

Combine that along with what dungfungus was saying about the bizzare Australian obsession with fetishising working until you f***ing die and if you’re not spending every single hour of your life working and earning money then you’re a deadbeat sucking at the teat of rah rah etc etc snore.

I thought I would get at least one response with expletives and Hadley did not let me down. What school did you go to? Reason I ask is that I wouldn’t want my kids to go there too.
I haven’t a clue what you are raving about as I was unable to attend the rally (like you) as I was caring for a dying relative.
I did not make any comments about “working until death” and welfare recipients either Hadley. I think you are a sad little person – I won’t dignify your existence by calling you a sad little man.

Oops, my bad, I didn’t realise that using an expletive that gets censored by the site would cause you to start vigorously high-fiving yourself quite so hard. I am sorry you are in a situation where you have chosen to care for loved one who is terminally ill, that must be a horrible place for you to be. I sincerely hope that they get well.

I went to Copland College, but I hope you find the right school for your children to attend! I know quite a few teachers of Canberra schools and unfortunately, most of them let their students express opinions that they have found themselves! Probably not the place for you!

With any luck you can find a school in Canberra where students are instructed to think within specific guidelines as proscribed by you!

p.s. thanks for not calling me a sad little man, that would have made me really sad!

Hey, you, fungdungus, I hope you have a great day! I really aspire to be you! Or, if I can’t aspire to be you, I really aspire to be the guy you pay fifty dollars a week to shit in your mouth.

Alan Jones is claiming that Police blocked “thousands” of people and “hundreds” of trucks at the border. He’s claiming it to be the worst thing to happen to democracy ever.

Given the news choppers up in the air today desparate for any sort of decent truck-ish footage for tonight’s news, are the nutters seriously going to believe NO-ONE actually saw said hundreds and thousands?

Now about those Apollo moon landings…

I think they’re still waiting for the “lost convoy” languishing under cruel police media blackout.

Until I see pictures of this 2km convoy I will not believe in its existence.

If I’m riding along Monaro Highway tomorrow at 8.30 I’ll snap a shot of a languishing convoy stretching more than 2 kms.

WTF is Alan Jones doing here anyway. He’s hardly “the common man” or the “aussie battler”.
He’s a multi millionare, radio talk show host.

It is one of the great mysteries of life. Conservative old white folk who like to think of themselves as “battlers” slavishly following the word of a multi millionare gay man.

Screw in your conspiracy monocle.

1.There is currently a live export vessel mysteriously STUCK in Port Adelaide;
2.The sheep are being unloaded SOON (as they are dying just a little bit);
3.The Feral Greenies and Socialists HATE farmers, truckies, climate change “deniers” and miners but LOVE sheep;
4.They (and their running kelpies in the AFP) have KIDNAPPED a lot of ordinary Australians falling within the categories mentioned in (3) above, who were hoping to make it to CANBERRA;
5. The SHEEP are being freed while the honest, hard-working, even real, Aussies are sent to FOREIGN PARTS;
6. Where abattoir workers have been BRIBED to hang them by one foot and kill them. Slowly.

It all makes perfect sense. There has to be a REASON, somewhere.

What happened to the 5.30am convoy leaving from EPIC.

They has pole position but cancelled.

I guess real Australians like to sleep in.

It’s pretty easy to hide a 2km convoy that have been captured by the police. We’ll probably never see them again. Spirited away.

You can’t see them because the police called in the Army to cover them with camo nets.

Ah! That explains it. I hope you alerted Alan Jones too, he must be running out of ideas to account for how the police managed to hide a 2km convoy on a major highway.

(musing) Armies are well-known for their hole-digging abilities. I still reckon the Lost Convoy is actually in a hastily-dug hole.

So far, the only comments are ones mocking these people, many of which travelled thousands of kilometres to voice their protests. At least they didn’t assult the police, smash down the doors of the House and trash the place like the union thugs and their supporters did 10 years ago (yeah, you had all forgotten about that hadn’t you)
They have come here at their own expense, unlike the Labor/Green/Union love-ins that are held here at taxpayer and union-member expense. Please show some respect to your fellow Australians who may not be as erudite and articulate as the average Canberran but at least they know what a hard day’s work is (an alien concept for most Canberrans)

But all the traffic that woudl have passed them before this happened, on whichever highway it was, will ensure that we never forget them, they will tell the world about how they saw 2kms of trucks who never made it through. Sounds like a song. Could put it to the tune of Ghostriders or something.

The Antichrist2:39 pm 22 Aug 11

there is no 2km convoy.

There is barely a 200m convoy !

Love the pics of the treadlie brigade, great work. More numbers there than Epic one would suspect…

I think they’re still waiting for the “lost convoy” languishing under cruel police media blackout.

Wow. It looks like literally *dozens* of people turned out for the Convoy.

Wonder if they still believe they’re the ‘majority’, or if reality has finally sunk in?
