Plumber, bathroom renovation recommendation

Based on several recommendations here around 2011, I asked John Lanz of Purr-fect Bathrooms (http://www.purr-fectbathrooms.com.au/) to do a handful of tiling and plumbing fix-it jobs in my newly-purchased house. Frankly, on this occasion I was less interested in the price and more interested in finding someone who would do a good job. The work involved various ‘corrections’: replacement of some tiles and re-caulking a flexible join between old and new parts of the substantially-renovated house, replacing some faulty pop-up sink plugs, and the biggest job–remedying a ‘situation’ left behind by the previous owners. The front room had been purpose-built as a hair salon, and the owners left two sets of pipes sticking a foot out of the middle of the tiled slab floor, previously connected to hair-washing stations they had removed. By agreement with the previous owners (and their lawyers) we organised and they paid to have them cut off properly and buried below floor level, which involved chipping a couple of wells into the slab by hand. We wanted the job done very carefully because we only had a few spare tiles, and replacements were no longer available.

I’m pleased to report that John and his team did an exceptional job over the course of two days. Not only was the finish of their work flawless, especially in the front room, but they were friendly, polite, and helpful at all times, even having a go fixing up a faulty soft-closing drawer at no charge. It was an unusual job and we didn’t shop around, but the quote seemed reasonable, they worked solidly the whole time, and we were very happy with the result. I would have no hesitation in recommending them and having them back to do other work.

Thanks John!
