Canberra plumbers

Have a plumbing emergency? Need a plumber to complete a renovation or new-house build? We are here to help.

The best plumbers in Canberra are equipped with the skills and experience to ensure your property’s waterworks are functioning as they should be.

Unfortunately, not all plumbers are able to do this, and some deliver pretty poor customer service. To help you avoid a nasty situation, we are happy to recommend five great plumbers in the Canberra region based on public feedback.

What makes a great plumber?

Before you decide which plumbers in Canberra to contact, here’s a list of the top traits acquired by the best in the business. If you have anything to add, please let us know in the comments section below.

  • Fairly priced. No one wants to be ripped off by their plumber, whatever the circumstances. A fairly priced plumber offers transparent quotes with no hidden costs or nasty surprises.
  • Reliable. When you hire a plumber, they should always show up on time and ready to work. You don’t have time to wait around.
  • Respectful. Often, when you contract a plumber, you are inviting them into your home or business premise. They should treat your space, family members or staff, and belongings with the respect they deserve.
  • Effective. You’re hiring a plumber for a reason. Their handiwork should fix whatever problem you are having.
  • Great customer service. Top-notch customer service is always a plus. The best plumbers servicing the Canberra region deliver exactly that.

Priority One Plumbing gave me a quote which would have come to around $600/hour + parts, for a three small jobs, one (maybe two) which I could have done myself if I had tools, but thought I might as well get professionally done, since I needed a plumber anyway. I paid the $50 quote fee and told him to go away, since how is that in anyway a reasonable rate? And also I’m not paying a guy over $1,300, over a week’s pay for me, for 2 hours work. Next time I’ll try to get hourly rate quotes.

For an idea, changing out washers was quoted as over $300 though it’s a 15 minute job and $1 worth of materials. If it was the only thing I asked for, maybe I could have stomached it as otherwise not being worth it to them for a call out, but not when there Is also another 30 minute job (which I’m being generous with time here) and the real issue, which could take an hour and I would have been more willing to pay for.

We Just used Duncan’s Plumbing to repair a disconnected sewage pipe. They were prompt, communicative, efficient, friendly and did a beautiful job. Their invoice was the most comprehensive I’ve ever seen, describing and itemising the work in detail. I’ll be employing them again within a month for more work that we need doing. Fantastic job

Priority One Plumbing were professional and provided a smooth service. I called them for an urgent fixing of my hot water system. They showed up within a short period of time and fixed it. Very competitive price. I would recommend them highly to all. Great work!

I am happy with the work done by priority one plumbing service as I had a blocked drain pipe in my bathroom and they fixed the problem with nonintimidating mind. They are truly awesome , friendly and competent. They fixed the problem with minimum of a fuss. They kept me informed about the problem and also updated me with the work they have done. Definitely I would recommend them to my friends and family.

Running Plumbing (Damian Peacock) is the plumber with the mostest. He responded quickly,
and was very honest and reliable. The price was right, and he made sure the problem was fixed before we paid. Can’t recommend him highly enough.

I would not recommend priority one plumbing. The plumber was 1 hour late (told us to come between 10am – 2pm, came at 3pm), and he did fix the problem (leaky tap). The pricing system though, is very “confusing” or should I say tricky, my impression is they still charge the same whether you used the “coupon” or not. They tell you higher price if you asked to use the coupon anyways. Conclusion: they can probably fix problems but customers are definitely note their priority and they try to trick you and charge more. I read this article and went with priority one, but regretting it. I would stick with my local plumber from next time.

I would like to thank priority one plumbing service for such a professional job! Our problem wasn’t simple and took some time to figure out. The plumber was very patient and helpful. I would recommend priority one plumbing to everyone who need a good plumbing service.

Thank you priority one plumbing.I can’t remember the name of the plumber who was out to fix our drain on a night call.very fast service, polite and price was fair and he even cleaned up after himself. Will definitely use them again.

I called Priority one plumbing service to fix a leaking tap in my kitchen. The plumbers turned up when they said they would and fixed it a timely manner. I was really happy with the service.

I would not recommend priority one plumbing for clearing roots from drains. I had them in and they were unsuccessful ($420 for nothing) and suggested replacing everything. I instead called capital city plumbing who had no trouble clearing drain and for less than half the price. ($187)

I used them recently was charged for 3 1/2 hrs Labour and a piece of copper pipe, $1234.00

When i asked for an itemised invoice, I got the following response in email.

“Our organisation has a lot more involved than just the hours on site. Planning and set up and material orders management etc

The prices account for all these things so a can provide a quality service with quality trades”

I think the franchise owner thought he could take advantage of someone desperate for plumbing services early in the new year.

Product review website suggests this company has some history of overcharging and bad work.

Damian Peacock from Running Plumbing is great. We have used him twice now over five years. He is easily contactable by phone or email, returns our calls and emails, attends and fixes our problems very promptly, and goes to some trouble rescheduling other jobs to sort our problems out. We are very impressed with him. Next time we need a plumber, he’s it!

Rose Savi 10:29 am 14 Nov 17

We had a faulty release valve on our hot water service, then I called priority one plumbing service. The plumber arrived promptly and was most proficient. Thanks priority one ,I can thoroughly recommend.

Thank you RiotACT for saving the day with this good list.

I wish I had checked out the list a bit earlier.

The tap connected to the hose was a bit shaky and I was probably waiting for a disater to happen.

The disaster never happened as i got David to the resuse, Nice guy, did a good job and was econimical

I would surely recommend him to be added to the list as well.

http://dlplumbing.com.au/ – Thank you google !

My 2 cents.

We had a major leak on a Saturday. Couldn’t get our usual plumber on the phone. After trawling through these comments, I rang Raiders Plumbing’s emergency line. A woman answered and told me she would get the plumber to ring back shortly. He did. To cut a long story short, we had excellent service from Raiders Plumbing and I would certainly recommend them. (Thanks RiotACT!)

Our usual plumber – Rodney Apps – is also very good.

Might be a bit late for you Mikonos, however if anyone else is stuck please have a read of a blog post I wrote on leaking showers.
Definitely the most important thing is that your plumber will provide you with a detailed report at the end of his testing so that you can be sure they have not missed any of the 9 main causes of shower leaks. You may also end up using this report for insurance claims, etc.

ps, I forgot to add that after Flow charged a premium I still had to remove the toilet seat from the lugs, reposition the lugs and re-attach the seat, since the plumber had loosened and moved the seat, and not re-aligned or re-affixed it.
