Pocock for the Brumbies?

With 1 player position left in the 2013 roster and around $500,000 free under the salary cap David Pocock did seem like a bit of a fit for the Brumbies, assuming he could be lured from the Force which he seems to basically be running as his own personal fiefdom these days.

Worldcupweb is reporting he could be announcing his move to Canberra within weeks.

Let’s hope he’s happy to go from being captain, coach, and selector at a struggling side to a cog in the machine at one going places.

Looks like the master (Pocock) is replacing the apprentice (Hooper). Similar style of flankers. Time will tell who turns out to be the best.

Wow, this would be incredible.

It’s truly refreshing that stars are willing to come to the Brumbies. Unlike the Raiders, who develop players who depart for better lifestyles as soon as they start delivering on their potential.

To the casual observer (me) the Brumbies are building nicely without the need for superstars. I’m sure Pocock would be a great addition to any side, but the problem with Super Rugby, as I see it, is the superstars change teams too often. I know they have to go where the money is, limited time in the game etc, but I think it’s better for fans if teams develop over a few years instead of trying to cherry pick the elite each time one of their contracts is up.

zomg. one of my fave players. i will be cautiously optimistic!

This would be huge for the Brumbies. Pocock seems a little more level-headed than Giteau and Elsom. Signing a star who is a team player on the back of a season built on team play would be perfect (that’s a terrible sentence, but I don’t much care).
