ACT Policing has released dash cam footage of a road rage incident on Sulwood Drive, Kambah on Monday, 7 May 2018, and is seeking the public’s help to identify one of the vehicles and its driver.

The footage shows black Toyota Kluger pulling alongside of a smaller vehicle it was following and deliberately veering into it, causing both vehicles to momentarily lose control. The Kluger turns across the face of traffic to speed away in the opposite direction.

Police said the incident occurred at 2.55 pm heading west on Sulwood Drive, Kambah, between Drakeford Drive and Kambah Pool Road.

OIC Traffic Operations, Sergeant Marcus Boorman said the driver of the Kluger had been totally irresponsible and anyone who viewed that footage would find it disturbing that someone would engage in that sort of dangerous driver behaviour.

“It’s quite apparent that the actions of that driver were deliberate. They are a danger and need to be dealt with accordingly,” he said.

Sergeant Marcus Boorman said the consequences could have been drastic and while no one was injured the driver of the rammed vehicle would have been shocked by the experience.

He appealed to the driver of the Kluger to come forward because the matter would not go away.

Sergeant Boorman said any form of road rage was unacceptable and he appealed to drivers not to take matters into their own hands and obey the road rules.

If you have information that can identify the black Toyota Kluger or additional dash-cam footage of the collision please contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the website.

Information can be provided anonymously.

What an outrageous piece of dangerous driving, lets hope the driver is caught and suitably punished.

Sulwood Drive has never been the safest road and it was listed for duplication in the late 80s (but it dropped off the agenda when Self Government came in). The graded area of road and bridge pylon bases for duplication, still sit there waiting, waiting ……

The road has become even worse lately with more and more traffic parking on the verge to walk up Mt Taylor (although that’s a good thing to give Tuggeranong residents somewhere to walk and exercise).
Someone in ACT Roads however, has decided to make Sulwood Drive ‘even more dangerous’ by putting up a big and unusual warning sign “watch for traffic entering from the right”.

Firstly this sign seems to legitimise people to cross over Double Yellow Lines near the Mannheim intersection, secondly it is obviously confusing drivers on the road, but most importantly, the new sign seems to be encouraging more and more dangerous entering and exiting by drivers.

I thought it was ACT Roads and Traffic job to improve safety, not to make the situation worse.

I may be wrong, but I recall several posts on this blog about aggressive actions of someone driving a black Kluger with heavily tinted windows in the Belconnen area a few months ago.

Anyone else remember this?

Unbelievable. What was that Kluger driver trying to achieve?
Must get one of those dash-cams. If idiots like that know they’re potentially being filmed they might think twice before going postal.
