Police apprehend alleged would-be Vikings Club robbers

Police have apprehended two men they believe were prepared to rob Vikings Club in Greenway in the early hours of Wednesday morning (17 April).

Around 2:15 am, members of the public walked into Tuggeranong Police Station expressing concerns of a possible armed robbery. They reportedly observed two men acting suspiciously in a vehicle in the carpark of the Vikings Club on Rowland Rees Crescent.

A short time later, police attended the location and arrested two men. One man was found in the vehicle parked near the entrance to the club, the other was inside the club at the time of the arrest.

Both men will face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with a range of offences, including going equipped for theft, possess knife, possess prohibited substance, breach of good behaviour order, and warrant offences.
