Full marks to the CPSU for handing out big paper cups of water to sweltering pubic servants standing around in 34 degree heat for over an hour …

…which could all have been avoided if 1 of 2 things happened. 1) Public servant takes all belongings with her, or 2) instead of panicking and calling 000, fellow public servant could have checked the bag or sent out an office email proclaiming the finding of someone’s bag.

Not to worry though, by 3:30 when it was all over none of them had hung around to resume work…

Nonsense. People with schoolkids left. Most resumed work.

The CT described the suspicious looking item as a “backpack”. If it’s that bad, why isn’t he bailed up while walking down the street with it?

There have been plenty of redundancy packages handed out there recently.

UPDATE – Package found at DFAT deemed non-suspicious.
