I read an article about the problems with the anti consorting laws in NSW, but haven’t they been amended and haven’t the Canberra Liberals amended their proposed laws after talking to the ACT human rights people? I’ve read that 3 other houses in the street were hit by the gunfire. Its only a matter of time before an innocent person is wounded or killed and when that happens, part of the responsibility will lie with the ACT government. Enough is enough.

If the ACT Government has issues (rightly or wrongly) with anti-consorting laws, then at the ‘very least’ Mr Barr should properly fund, skill and resource the Police to tackle this issue. Don’t just stick your head in the sand and ignore the growing problem.

I don’t see Police patrolling the streets of Tuggeranong, I do however see pretty dodgy looking people coming and going from premises that everyone knows is home to a Motorcycle gang member. The current state of affairs is creating untold stress on law abiding members of our community. The people I know who are facing these stressors are elderly or with young families, they deserve better protection from these criminals who are operating with impunity in our outer suburbs.

I’m still waiting for the day that Gang members setup operations in the same street as one of our elected members, I’m pretty sure we would see some quick action to address the problem then.
