Police officer impersonating an air marshal?

By johnboy - 30 June 2011 12

The ABC has a piece on a weird story involving an AFP officer at Canberra Airport:

Media reports have suggested the officer had attempted to get into a Virgin plane’s cabin by pretending to be an air marshal.

An AFP spokeswoman says she cannot comment on the details of the incident.

But she says there was no risk to the safety of passengers during the incident.

The matter has been referred to the AFP Professional Standards investigation unit.

What’s Your opinion?

OK CPO ACT has confirmed on Twitter that this was an ACT Policing offduty person, possibly intoxicated.

I read it as being an off duty AFP Member:

“I’m disappointed; 1 of our off-duty officers removed from a plane on tue for misbehaving and suspected intoxication. Internal inv. underway.”

Still doesn’t say if they were Protective Services, Airport Police, Federal Agent, Close Personal Protection, International Deployment Group, etc.

Stupid, Stupid person no matter who it is though…

ACT member.

I read it as being ACT Policing given CPO ACT took the time to comment on it. National stuff isnt in his sphere of accountability.

Agreed, say goodbye to your job, pal stupid move.
