Police say man threw bottle, assaulted bouncer at Civic nightclub

A 32-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly threw a glass bottle after being refused entry to an entertainment venue before assaulting a bouncer at a Civic night club in the early hours of Sunday morning (25 August).

Around 2:35 am, the man is alleged to have thrown a glass bottle, which smashed against a wall and injured three people after he was refused entry to a venue. Police will say in court that the man then assaulted a security guard at the venue.

Police officers on mobile patrol saw the man being restrained by venue security staff on East Row, Civic and he was subsequently arrested.

The Parramatta man is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday (26 August) on charges including affray, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, a further count of assault, and possessing an offensive weapon with intent.

Police will oppose bail.
