I love that they search Uni Pub in relation to an allegation, but did absolutely nothing about searching Academy when my friend had his ribs, cheekbone and nose broken by three bouncers in the service elevator. Never been more disgusted in my life, callous pigs.

Was it reported to Police or were they just expected to know that it happened?

We took our mangled friend into the police station the next day – they contacted us not long after to first tell us that they couldn’t access the surveillance tapes (laziness), then when we pushed for action they responded again to give the poorest excuse for police-work I’ve ever heard: ‘the surveillance tapes for that night (no other night) and for that camera (no other camera) were not recording’. I distinctly remember the officer being very matter-of-fact about the entire facade, as if we couldn’t comprehend the difficulty of investigating a case where the evidence has been erased by the guilty party. Fairly certain it isn’t difficult to retrieve erased footage from a bunch of moron club-owners, they aren’t exactly computer forensic experts.

Fairly certain it is quite hard to retrieve footage that was never there as well.

If the CCTV system was not working and your friend could not positively identify who did the beating, how can the Police go much further?

I’m tipping that the CCTV was broken at exactly the time that it happened, or they accidentally erased those few minutes from the hard disk, or the camera was obscured.

So are there any legitimate licensed premises left?
