Police seek witnesses to sexual assault in Commonwealth Avenue underpass

ACT Policing has issued a face-fit image of man who sexually assaulted a female in the Commonwealth Avenue underpass between Parkes and Yarralumla on Friday, 29 December 2017.

Police said that between 3 pm and 4 pm, a female was using the underpass to cross Commonwealth Avenue when she was approached by a stranger and sexually assaulted before she was able to escape.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, about 176 cm tall, with a fair complexion, aged in his late 40s to early 50s, with sandy coloured hair and clean shaven. He was allegedly wearing a yellow Polo shirt, with dark suit trousers and shoes.

Police urge anyone who may have witnessed the sexual assault or who may have any information that could assist, to call them on 131 444.
