Detectives work in both those all those teams Einsteins. Detective is a title, not an area where people work. I think Crime Targeting Team is a very apt name considering what they do. What’s your suggestion? Something mauve and sensitive?

Is there something else that the ACT’s detectives target?

ACT Detectives RESPOND to serious crimes in the ACT. The Crime Targeting Team is a team of Detectives that, wait for it, TARGET CRIME, property crime in particular. This means targeting known recidivist offenders, particularly burglars etc…

Yep, plenty of other things

Big Macs and Quarter Pounders?

Oh dear, your originality is stunning

Thanks, I try.
So what else do they do or do you only tease?

I restrained myself from the usual doughnut joke, in the certain knowledge someone else would fill the gap.

Seriously though, “Crime” is a pretty general word which I though describes all criminal behaviour and activity. Why are our detectives spending time targeting lawful things?

Anyone else sick of some of the verbose titles government agencies are using these days… “Organised Crime and Crime Targeting Team”

Almost as annoying as Nicola Roxon spending every second sentence in interviews saying how they’re doing this and that about “Health and Hospitals.”

Almost as annoying as using the word ‘verbose’

Win News is reporting tonight that the business is still trading but the kitchen will remain closed.
Not entirely sure how that works but anyway.

I suspect the beers are still on, but not the burgers.

Of course, but with the search done, wonder what’s keeping the kitchen closed? Did they actually take some of the hardware perhaps?

Saying that some cops are in a crime targeting team seems like saying that some bus drivers are in a bus driving team. It’s generic to the point of not being much use as a description of their activities. Counter terrorism, counter organised crime, counter narcotics etc might all provide a bit more information about what’s actually going on.

Agreed, but that does not explain why they changed the media release on the web three times!?!
