The following in from our heroes in blue:

    1. A woman making deliveries in Chisholm has beaten fought off an atttacker who tried to grab her at 3am. A bit of a worry this one. Despite police calling in the dogs he was not caught.

“The offender was described as Caucasian, approximately 183cm (about 6’) in height, wearing a short dark-sleeved shirt, dark jeans and had short dark hair… Police would urge anyone who may have witnessed a male acting suspiciously in the Chisholm area in the early hours of this morning and may be able to assist the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or report online via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.

    2. In Dickson it appears they had a cat burglar in the Allens store. During opening hours he/she managed to lift the keys and rifle the safe for bags of cash.

Police would urge anyone who may have witnessed suspicious persons near the Allens store in Dickson yesterday morning to contact Crime Stoppers. (details as above)

    UPDATE:

    3. Katy Gallagher has announced the Audrey Fagan Post Graduate Scholarship in honour of the late Chief Police Officer.

The aim of the Audrey Fagan Post Graduate Scholarship Program is to provide $20,000 to encourage ACT women to further their studies and professional development in the areas of law enforcement, care and protection, or professional support services for women who are victims of violence, and to encourage the retention of skills within the ACT community

Skid if you are currently unemployed I strongly suggest you contact ACT Policing as you obviously have a bent for Intelligence work. That, my friend is brilliant deduction. Heck you may even make a Defective on day.

The cops had their rego camera in action on William Slim Drive near Giralang at lunchtime today and when I went past there were about a dozen presumably unregistered cars parked there on the side of the road! Interestingly there were a number of late model cars in amongst the lot, not just old Kingswoods or Toranas. I guess it’s the pressure of high interest rates and high petrol prices that are contributing to this worrying trend.

The Daily Telegraph!

Allens sounds like an inside job, wording is a bit odd as well “observed four bags removed from the safe” either poorly worded or the manager watched someone taking the money and didn’t do much?

As I said earlier CT’s, being the The Canberra Times would be a good guess.

Isn’t that just a residential street?
So “commercial deliveries” of what, at 3am on a Tuesday?

Commercial deliveries. Canberra Times, perhaps…

Lucky they were able to release such a detailed and specific description…

Wow. You blame the poor victim for not being able to provide a more detailed description? I would imagine she’d be quite traumatised by the incident, which was probably over within 10-20 seconds.

hastily made formula bottles for 2 ravenous, screaming lads who have been woken by my wife’s snoring – honestly, I sometimes think that she has smuggled a chainsaw into the house….

CT’s

Call me crazy, but at 3am and fighting for your welfare, this is probably the best description the victim was able to get ??!!..

I like this little tidbit JB, well done groover and the rest of the RA establishment
