1. What do you expect from four blokes in a Commodore:

ACT Policing seized a silver Holden Commodore and will be seeking to interview its driver after an incident on Saturday evening in Palmerston in which two men were assaulted.

Police responded to the incident at Palmerston shops around 6.45pm where it was reported that a 45-year-old man had approached the driver of a vehicle which was driving in a dangerous manner and doing burnouts in the area.

A second man, an off-duty NSW Police constable, also witnessed the dangerous driving. He identified himself, asked to see the driver’s licence details and after smelling alcohol on the driver’s breath, intervened by removing the keys from the vehicle’s ignition.

The driver and three men got out of the car and assaulted both men by punching and kicking them. Police were called and the four men fled the area on foot, leaving the Commodore behind. The vehicle was subsequently towed to the ACT Exhibit Management Centre and impounded.

Police have identified the owner of the vehicle and will be seeking to interview him as soon as practicable in relation to the alleged traffic offences and the assault matters. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident and may be able to assist police with the investigation or help identify the offenders involved are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.

2. Athllon Drive bingle:

ACT Policing are seeking witnesses to a collision at the intersection of Athllon Drive and Beasley Street in Torrens on Saturday afternoon (November 13).

Around 3.40pm, a silver Saab sedan travelling west along Beasley Street collided with a white Mitsubishi Triton Utility travelling south on Athllon Drive.

The collision also caused damage to a third vehicle which was stopped at the lights on Athllon Drive, and a light pole.

Five people were taken to the Canberra Hospital with minor injuries as a result of the collision.

The road was closed for around 2 hours while ACTEWAGL attended and removed the damaged light pole.

Police are seeking any witnesses to the collision who may be able to assist with the investigation. Anyone who may have any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

Hmmm I wonder if, at one stage of their running from the scene, did any of them (assuming one was the owner) get it into their tiny minds that it’s extremely simple for the police to find whose name the car is registered in. Probably not.

If Jim finds out the meaning of “indiscriminately” he may be able to tell us when this era of police “indiscriminately” beating people up occured.

😉

Assaulting a Police Officer (even off-duty)carries a bit of weight.

Was it really Jim?

I think you need to look up the word “indiscriminately” there Jim. Swaggie was arguing/hoping for some discriminate beating up.

Swaggie said :

I’m guessing the losers in the Commodore will get a Darn good telling off from the magistrate and a smack on the wrist for the assault. Personally I hope the Boys in blue kick the shit out of all 4 of them and to hell with any prosecution.

Yeah, the world was a much better place when the police got to indiscriminately beat people up.

The fair and just will enjoy “interviewing” these blokes I imagine.
