1. And he thought he was sooo clever:
About 8.00pm last night (Thursday October 14), police observed a dark blue coloured Holden Commodore sedan on Bunda Street in the City.
The driver was pulled over by police and spoken to in relation to numerous traffic offences. A vehicle matching the description of this vehicle has been caught by fixed speed cameras 20 times for exceeding the speed limit since June.
Further enquiries by police are being conducted.
Superintendent Mark Colbran said “Speeding is the area of special focus for ACT Policing for the month of October from a road safety perspective. All motorists should be aware that if they attempt to evade the speed cameras police will fully investigate and will continue in their attempts to identify the drivers at all times in the future.”
ACT Policing became aware of the matter after the Traffic Camera Office was unable to identify the vehicle or driver due to the vehicle not having registration plates attached and forwarded it on for police to investigate.
The vehicle had been photographed exceeding the speed limit by fixed speed cameras with speeds ranging from 11km/h over the speed limit to 52km/h over.
The Traffic Camera Office forwards on to ACT Policing all photographs of speeding vehicles who cannot be identified for further investigation.
