1. Belco pursuit:

ACT Policing is investigating an incident which occurred around 11.30pm March 17 after a vehicle swerved at police while they were conducting a routine traffic stop on Kingsford Smith Drive in Latham.

Police searched the area locating a vehicle matching the description of the suspicious vehicle on Ginninderra Drive and attempted to stop the vehicle.

The driver of the red Holden station wagon failed to stop and a pursuit ensued.

Police will allege the pursuit lasted for four minutes and was called off after the vehicle drove onto the oval at The Mount Rogers School in Spence and police lost sight of the vehicle on Clarey Crescent. The maximum speed reached during the pursuit was 90km/h.

A short time later police sighted vehicle tail-lights on the dirt road leading into the Spence Water Reservoir. The red Holden station wagon was located with a male lying on the ground outside the vehicle with a suspected head injury. Initial investigations indicate the vehicle lost control on the dirt road and collided with several objects, coming to rest on a large rock.

ACT Ambulance service attended the scene and conveyed the male to The Canberra Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Police expect to charge the 24-year-old once he is discharged from hospital.

Perhaps he was confused by what his mates meant exactly when they told him to use his head while being pursued by the Police?

*cough* karma *cough*

Belco gets more than it’s fair share my friend 😉

Another Belconnen only police wrap. The citizens of Tuggeranong will start to get jealous.

Where’s Farq ??? He could add a different twist to this tale, I am sure !!

Insert humour module….

Did he have the injury before or after the crash?…

You don’t even have lines to read between – oh, I guess you aren’t serious! I bet it comesout in Court that the Police pursuing reached out of their vehicle and, using a large yellow pages, flogged him about the head BEFORE letting him get away and then ‘finding’ him a short time later….

The cretin should be sterilised so he can’t pollute the gene pool.

It sounds like he collided with the rocks after the pursuit had finished, then subsequently sustained his head injury getting out of the car. A candidate for Canberran of the Year for 2009?

I suspect Darwin himself hasn’t been too busy of late…

Unfortunately I expect this example of the shallow end of the gene pool will live to procreate.

Darwin at work in our community.

Or that could just be the maximum speed reached by the police during the pursuit.

They pursued the car from Ginninderra Drive to Mt Rodgers School in Spence and none of them got above 90km/h? Really? Such restraint from the bogans is quite unusual!
