1. Trail bike bandits:

ACT Policing is seeking assistance from the public after thieves stole road-trail and motocross bikes from residences in the Tuggeranong area over the weekend.

Stolen between 10.40pm Friday (October 15) and 8.50am on Saturday (October 16) from the side yard of a residence in Bellchambers Crescent in Banks was a 1997 yellow-and-black Suzuki RMX250 dirt bike.

On Saturday, three motorcycles – a 2009 Kawasaki KLX 250 (ACT registration 75762), a 1999 Yamaha WR400 (ACT registration 73951), and a blue-and-white 1999 Yamaha TTR 250 – were stolen, together with two Giant-brand bicycles, from the back room of garage in Gowrie.

On Monday October 18, two trail bikes – a green 2003 model Kawasaki KX250 with ‘Skins’ stickers and a 2002 orange and black Kawasaki KTM250 – were stolen from the rear shed of a house in Gilmore.

On the same day (October 18), police executed a search warrant on a Gowrie home, recovering the blue-and-white Yamaha and the two Giant bicycles stolen on Saturday night. No-one has yet been charged in relation to the thefts.

The following trail bikes are still outstanding and police are appealing to any witnesses to help locate the stolen property;

— 1997 yellow and black Suzuki RMX250;
— 2009 Kawasaki KLX 250, ACT registration 75762;
— 1999 Yamaha WR400, ACT registration 73951;
— 2003 model Kawasaki KX250;
— 2002 orange and black Kawasaki KTM250.

Police believe the thefts are linked and warn other trail bike owners in the Tuggeranong Valley to check the security of their storage premises, particularly overnight.

Anyone who may have seen people acting suspiciously in these areas at the time of the thefts, or may have information to assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

BTW the “2002 orange and black Kawasaki KTM250” is actually a KTM not a Kawasaki

That might explain the loud dirt bikes i heard fanging around near the Gowrie Shops at 1am on Monday morning…
