2. BMW driver unmasked:

ACT Policing has released a forensic face-fit image of the alleged offender from the indecent act which occurred in Rivett on Tuesday night (August 31).

About 9pm a 14-year-old male was walking home from a bus stop in Brierly Street, Weston when he noticed a late-model silver BMW sedan bearing black and white ACT registration plates suspiciously drive up and down the street.

As the young male walked along Hindmarsh Drive and onto Streeton Drive in Rivett, he observed the same BMW following behind him. The victim turned onto a footpath at which time the BMW stopped at the pathway and the driver approached the victim on foot.

The driver attempted to engage the victim in conversation before exposing himself and conducting an indecent act in front of the victim.

The offender is described as a Caucasian male, aged in his late 20s to early 30s, approximately 152cm (5’) tall, with a medium build and shaved head. The offender was wearing an open brown waist length coat with pink underwear underneath.

4. Couldn’t they have got just one more?

The targeted campaign by ACT Policing which began four weeks ago has resulted in an additional 199 motorists being issued with Traffic Infringement Notices (TINs) for using their handheld mobile phones while driving.

The campaign, which began August 1, has been conducted in cooperation with the ACT government’s road safety office as the first in a series of targeted programs to address high-risk driving behaviours. The zero tolerance program will continue for another four weeks.

The whole-of-government approach is supported through law enforcement, advertising, community messaging and public relations.

The 199 TINs were issued between August 15 – 29. Although the number of TINS issued for the week August 15 – 22 (66 TINS) were down from previous weeks, they rose again sharply in the proceeding week (133 TINS).

Traffic Operations Acting Superintendent Jeff Knight said that although the Canberra public had been well warned of this campaign, drivers continued to take risks on the road.

“Some drivers continue to risk their lives and the lives of others by using their mobile phone when they drive. No phone call is that important to take while you are driving” Acting Supt Knight said.

The fine for using a handheld mobile phone while driving is $271 and a loss of three demerit points.

Idiot, who stands there & counts there money after they use an EFT machine??? Especially at night…..

Especially a security guard.

Is that an Avenging Angels’ beret?

Leinna ’tis a touch scary that groups of seven armed men are breaking into homes :-S”

Seeing as there would be a seven way split, they must have had a good reason to target a flat. I wonder what that would be? Maybe it was a business not a home or “homes”.

And Canberra’s a lovely place, nothing happens here, yeah right!

’tis a touch scary that groups of seven armed men are breaking into homes :-S

So, what do you bid? Less than 24 hours before they charge earring/beret dude??

Just checked the garage. I confirm that I no longer own a Bavarian Money Waster. Phew!

FMD – is that Terry from East 17?

Nah – it’s Charlie from Driveshaft.

He’d want to watch out for for those big, dangly earrings – one day somebody’s just gunna grab hold and pull down sharply….

Actually, that identikit face looks like a guy I noticed hanging around the Manuka playground a couple of years ago – except he had dirty blonde dreads then.

This guy – I really really wish I REPORTED this to the police at the time – had a group of three 14/15 year old boys who he used to hang out with. From the body language, all four were trying to pretend nothing was going on (as a mother-of-teens, and an ex-naughty-teen myself, that will ALWAYS catch my attention) but the interplay within the group made me shudder.

This guy was stalking those kids, and the several times I saw him it was pretty obvious that the kids were accepting drugs or drink from him, while he was barely holding back from crawling all over them, the creep.

Honestly, it really bothered me – it is predatory behaviour no matter what the gender of the interacting parties, and it is illegal.

Why I did not go the the police – well, I was in the middle of pursuing a compensation case relating to sexual abuse in my own childhood, and was concerned in case I would be dismissed as another ‘peds under the beds’ nutter.

Also I was a little emotionally drained…

However – this photofit image is a perfect fit for this Manuka guy; the boys he was sleazing onto I think were Telopea Park High students, and if this rings any warning bells with anyone else do please inform the police rather than dismissing it as irrelevant.

What use is a security guard that gets robbed?

Shouldn’t be too hard to find a guy wearing that beret and earrings. He’ll stand right out.

FMD – is that Terry from East 17?

Is that a challenger for the 204km/h rider’s “best Facebook profile picture”?

Idiot, who stands there & counts there money after they use an EFT machine??? Especially at night…..
