1. Downer burglars:
- “ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a burglary at a residence in Atherton Street, Downer on Saturday (October, 18).
About 12.40pm, police received a report of two suspicious males in the area. One male was described as wearing a black cap and the second was described as wearing a maroon coloured shirt and carrying a black backpack.
Upon arrival police observed a male matching the description provided.
A short time later police saw a second male, again matching the description provided. The male was carrying a backpack, which was searched and found to contain a laptop, and other property believed to be stolen.
Both alleged offenders were arrested and conveyed to the Regional Watch House at City Station.
An 18-year-old man of Downer was charged with burglary, he will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today. A 20-year-old man of Kaleen was charged with burglary and theft and he will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday (October 24, 2008).

2. There’s been a Northbourne slum stabbing:
- ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an assault at a Northbourne Ave, Dickson unit last night (Friday, October 17), in which a 52-year-old man suffered knife wounds.
Police believe the alleged offender, a 23-year-old man of no fixed address, had been a temporary guest at the apartment but had been asked to leave the residence.
The alleged offender then returned to the residence last night around 8.40pm when an argument and a fight ensued, resulting in both men receiving injuries.
The alleged offender was located by police standing on the curb on Northbourne Avenue around 9.15pm. He was arrested and charged with intentional wounding. He will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday.

3. Finally official word on the Braddon Caltex getting knocked over:
- ACT Policing is investigating a robbery at the Caltex service station in Braddon around 4.55am today (October 16).
The male and female offenders threatened the console operator, demanding cash and cigarettes. The console operator complied with the demands however, locked the glass doors of the store before the offenders were able to leave.
The male offender then kicked at and broke one of the glass doors in order for them both to flee the premises. The offenders were seen leaving in a white trayback utility.
The male offender is described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, approximately 162cm (5’4”) tall, with black hair, an average build, wearing black trackpants, a black T-shirt, a black hooded jumper with grey lining inside its hood, and black shoes.
The female is described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, approximately 160cm (5’3”) tall, with brown shoulder-length hair, an average build, wearing black pants, a pink top, a faded black jacket and white sneakers.
