1. Large knives in Curtin:

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery that occurred in Curtin in the early hours of this morning (Friday 25 June).

About 3.30am the victims, a 29-year-old male and a 26-year-old female, were walking up Leake Place when they saw a vehicle pass by without its headlights on.

A short time later two males approached the couple armed with large knives, demanding cash. The victims were told to get on their knees with their hands behind their heads. The offenders have taken money and a mobile phone from the victims.

The offenders were last seen to run off in to McCormack Street, Curtin. The vehicle seen earlier by the victims has driven off shortly after the incident in an erratic manner.

The offenders are described as being Caucasian, aged in their late teens to early twenties, about 185cm (6’1”) tall with muscular builds and short hair. One male was wearing a grey hooded jumper and the other male was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper.

The vehicle is described as being a small two door, mid 2000’s model hatch back, possibly grey or beige in colour.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the above incident or seen any persons or vehicles matching the description in the Curtin area around this time to contact Crime Stoppers.

2. Thuggies in Lyons:

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an attempted robbery that occurred on Wednesday 24 June in Lyons.

About 9.15pm a 20-year-old male was walking along Launceston Street in Lyons when he was approached by a male, demanding his wallet and phone.

The victim did not comply with the demand and continued on walking. He was then punched to the back of the head by the offender.

The victim was treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance for minor injuries.

While a suspect has been identified, Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to contact Crime Stoppers.

If you can help police contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the website at www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.

By the way, I love your ‘assume’ comment. Here is a couple of assumptions you made:

1) I’m not an expert in head trauma.
2) I’m not in possession of any of the facts outside the media report.

Nice ASSumptions though, champ.

“I think you’re drawing a long bow claiming to have saved his life”
You witnessed it too? No?
You’re an expert in head trauma? No?
You’re making assumptions when you are not in possession of any of the actual facts, just a blurby media statement.
The miscreant was repeatedly getting stuck into the victim, while he was lying on the ground.
When you ASSUME something, you make a ASS of U and ME.
Well in this case, just U really.
You’re an idiot. Card carrying, top shelf, certifable.
Get a sign, people need to see you coming.

That was quite a tantrum – and barely literate to boot! Any 3 year old would be proud of that effort.

I’m sure you would be just as gobby in a real life conversation too, wouldn’t you?

Re: Lyons, I witnessed the assault, and rang the Police and Ambulance. Otherwise the guy would not just be in hospital, he’d be dead.

Good work for calling the ambos and police, but I think you’re drawing a long bow claiming to have saved his life.
