1. The Lyons newsagency suffered an attempt to knock it over this afternoon:

About 2.15pm, a female has entered the Lyons Place premises with a knife and demanded money from staff. No money was handed over.

The female is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately five foot tall (152cm), wearing a white jacket and a black scarf across her face.

Police believe the female fled in the company of a male waiting outside the shops towards Davenport Street. The male is described as Aboriginal in appearance with a solid build.

2. And a Scullin home was subjected to an armed robbery this afternoon:

At the time of the robbery three occupants were in the house. The offenders entered the home and assaulted a male and threatened the occupants with a knife and a firearm.

The three offenders fled with a sum of cash.

The offenders are described as follows:

Male one – Caucasian in appearance, approximately 20 years old, light brown hair wearing dark-coloured tracksuit pants and T-shirt, a dark-coloured zip-up hooded top and sneakers and had his face covered by a bandana.

Male two – Caucasian in appearance, approximately 6ft (183cm) tall, slim build, brown / blond hair with a white bandana over his face. He was wearing a baseball cap, white sunglasses, a black hooded top, black track suit pants and sneakers.

Male three – Caucasian in appearance, approximately 20 years old, 195cm (6’5”) tall, of slim build and had a missing front tooth. He was wearing a beanie, black sunglasses, a black short-sleeve top, dark tracksuit pants and sneakers.

The three offenders left the scene in a silver-coloured four-door sedan in the direction of Southern Cross Drive.

3. Last night the Mooseheads exterior played host to an accident with a P-plater hitting a pedestrian at 3am.

The pedestrian, a 22-year-old man, was conveyed to Calvary Hospital with minor injuries.

The 18-year-old female driver of the vehicle was subjected to a roadside screening test and returned a negative result. Charges against the driver are still to be decided.

Sgt Greg Lester, who leads one of ACT Policing’s City Beats teams, said that this incident should serve as a warning to those people who gather outside Canberra’s nightclubs in the early hours of the morning.

“Working through the night and into the early hours, our Beats teams constantly have to deal with those situations where crowds outside nightclubs spill off the footpath and onto the roadway; and yet many of these people are oblivious to the danger in which this places them,” Sgt Lester said.

If you can help police with any of these matters contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online via the website at www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.

Russians know how to handle stroppy causcasians.

Bl00dy caucasians are nothing but trouble.

You think the “liberal” party would speak up for ordinary hard working australians and do something about this no good caucasian lot.

*disclaimer: I am a causcasian. apparently. but i don’t come from the caucases. i suppose australia is close to asia. whatever.*

It must have been absolutely terrifying. I hope none of those in the house were children.

The offenders entered the home and assaulted a male and threatened the occupants with a knife and a firearm.

Well there go another three innocent casualties of crime with a lifetime of post-traumatic stress ahead of them.

No thanks for that, trying to do too much too fast.

oh and then, “About 2.15pm”

Not a good start. Apologies for the double comment, I’ll keep all my thoughts together until I’m ready to post next time.
