1. The Red Hill stabbing official version is out.

2. It’s followed by news of an arrest:

ACT Policing has arrested a 28-year-old Gowrie man after an alleged stabbing of two men in Red Hill around 3am today (September 29).

Detectives from the Territory Investigations Group arrested the man after executing a search warrant on a Red Hill address today. A number of items were seized including a taser-like devise.

The victims, both aged 22, were conveyed to hospital with stab wounds, one with injuries to his chest and the other with leg injuries.

3. If you really must know everything about policing their annual report is out.

4. Here’s one I’m letting straight though to the keeper:

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an incident on an ACTION bus on Friday (September 26) in which an 18-year-old woman was indecently assaulted.

The incident occurred between 9.40am and 9.55am on Friday on an ACTION bus travelling between Waramanga and the Woden Bus Interchange.

A group of male youths boarded the bus at Yambina Street in Waramanga.

The group comprised two males of African appearance, aged between 16-17 years old, both of slim build, wearing baggy clothing, thick neck chains with symbols hanging from them, and caps with bandannas underneath. One wore a bright green T-shirt.

Two other youths were of Asian appearance. They were described as around 15 years old, both with a slim build, short dark hair with blond tips, and around 160cm (5’3”) tall. One wore a red T-shirt.

Two other males were around 20 years old, of Polynesian appearance, about 185cm (6’1”) tall, with heavy muscular builds and short dark hair.

The victim was harassed and accosted twice by two members of the group while riding on the bus.

Police will seek CCTV footage from the bus in an attempt to identify the offenders.

Police also are appealing for any members of the public who were riding on ACTION Bus 27 on Friday (September 26) en route to the Woden Bus Interchange who may have witnessed the incident, or be able to assist in identifying the offenders, should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or report via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.

Yambina Street has fifteen standalone houses, two bus stops, several aged care units, a high school nearby, and is right next to a primary school.
With news of an assault on a young girl nearby, I imagine everyone who finds out about it will be paying closer attention to people than they normally would.

Three seperate visible minorities overlapping into a polysocial set should, under observation, stick out like dogs balls.

To get an individual from one place to another, short of leaping over fences (parkour acrobatics are a fairly high-attention activity), they either need to walk around the block a bit (high observation exposure, higher movement freedom), or follow pedestrian paths (lower observation exposure, lower movement freedom).
High observation levels, predictable pedestrian traffic flows…

I don’t think they’ll last long if they go back there again.

Where was the bus driver?

Where were the other passengers?

“ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an incident on an ACTION bus on Friday (September 26) in which an 18-year-old woman was indecently assaulted…”

Where was the bus driver and or other passengers? It would seem if there were no other passengers the situation for the young woman could have been more obvious to the driver.

Real tough guys, when there are six of them harrasing one poor girl. Surely they are not that hard to identify.

Oh boy indeed!

oh boy…

Whilst it’s most unfortunate for the young girl concerned, on a positive note its nice to see Africans, Asians and Polynesians uniting over a common interest.

In breaking news, I reported an abandoned/dumped black mountain bike to the police this morning. there was also what looked like a blue bag near the bike, but I was going at such break-neck speed to avoid and maggie swooping that I cannot confirm the bag.

Nothing about a seemingly large drug bust in Giralang overnight? Anybody got any deets on that?

I saw two pursuit cars parked ominously on the Barton Hwy just before sunset, then about 90 mins later a third police car was poised on Chuculba Cr facing the William Slim Dr roundabout. 30 mins later Chuculba Cr was the scene for what seemed like a drug sting – about 5-6 cop cars pulled over 4 or so civilian cars. Over a dozen people were milling around, I figure some more were placed in custody. The police seemed to be sorting out drugs and syringes into piles on the roadside.

Then I read about the drug bust last week and I begin to wonder if this is connected, and potentially a result of some cross-border shenanigans.

Police media work at a leisurely pace. Who knows what tomorrow may bring.

Nothing in the police report about the vanishing gnomes?
Slack!
