A home owner was confronted with a man wielding a knife in the early hours of this morning (Friday November 5) in Dickson.
About 6am the resident was awoken by a man breaking into his two cars parked outside. The home owner confronted the man beside his Mitsubishi Magna. A knife was produced by the offender who then fled on foot with a bicycle belonging to the resident, along with a small amount of cash and two pairs of glasses.
The resident followed the offender along Moncrieff Street, through a number of streets, to the tourist centre car park on Northbourne Avenue, where the offender has dropped the bike.
ACT Policing is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the man. He is described as between 30 to 40 years of age, of Caucasian appearance, approximately 5’7” (170cm) tall with a slim build. He was wearing a dark coloured hat, white pants, with a multi-coloured jumper (red, orange, and brown). The offender has an obvious limp with a possible right leg injury.
