- ACT Policing is seeking witnesses after a 23-year-old O’Connor man was assaulted in Civic this morning (February 6).
The incident occurred about 5.30am (February 6) on Mort Street, in between Alinga Street and Bunda Street.
The victim sustained facial bleeding and bruising and was rendered unconscious as a result of the assault. He was treated at the scene by the ACT Ambulance Service.
A second man, aged 20, was also assaulted during the incident, suffering minor injuries.
A 21-year-old Braddon man was arrested at the scene and conveyed to the Regional Watch House where he is expected to be charged in relation to the incident.
Police suspect a further two men, both of Pacific Islander appearance, were involved in the assault and are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident on Mort Street this morning (February 6).
Specifically, police would like to speak to the driver of a garbage truck and the driver of a light delivery truck, who both drove along Mort Street whilst the assault was in progress.

- ACT Policing has charged two men and will summons a third after a coordinated operation to target alleged drug suppliers at the Allawah Flats complex in Reid today (February 6).
During the operation, detectives from the Territory Investigations Group (TIG) executed four simultaneous search warrants on units within the complex.
As a result, a substantial amount of plant material suspected to be cannabis was located, as well as a substance thought to be methamphetamine hydrochloride. Police also located a number of items suspected to be stolen.
A 30-year-old man of no fixed address and a 38-year-old Evatt man were arrested during the operation. Both men have been charged with possess prohibited substance and were bailed to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on February 17.
A third man, aged 46, will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date on drug related charges.
The operation was conducted using resources from numerous areas of ACT Policing, including the ACT Beats Team and Traffic Operations. Traffic targeting in the area during the operation led to the identification of four unregistered vehicles and three defective vehicles.

3. Haig Park always was a little dodgy at night:
- ACT Policing is investigating an allegation of a sexual assault in a park in Braddon this morning (February 6).
A 29-year-old man has reported that about 6.00am today he was walking through Haig Park, between Girrahween and Henty streets, when he was struck over the head with an unknown object. The man has told police that a man then sexually assaulted him before leaving the area.
The offender is described as having a stocky build, spoke with an Australian accent and was wearing a dark coloured polo shirt.
The 29-year-old man sustained minor injuries from the incident.
