1. Thuggies out on a spree:

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an incident that occurred on Hindmarsh Drive, Phillip about 12.25am this morning (Sunday 6 June).

A member of the public was harassed by the occupants of a 2009 grey Mitsubishi Lancer sedan that had been stolen the previous day from the victim of one of the aggravated robberies. The member of the public had a glass bottle thrown at his car before the offending vehicle and occupants took off down Hindmarsh Drive towards Weston Creek. It appears that a white Holden Commodore was in company with the stolen Lancer.

Police located the Mitsubishi Lancer a short time later in the Kambah Village car park and a short pursuit commenced. The pursuit was terminated due to the dangerous manner of driving by the offending vehicle.

About 1.30am police located the stolen vehicle within a residential complex in Bonython.

Police are urging any persons who may have come into contact with the occupants of a 2009 grey Mitsubishi Lancer sedan or witnessed an incident involving the vehicle to contact Police on 131 444 or to contact Crime Stoppers.

2. More Thuggies:

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery on a 22-year-old male which occurred in Holder early this morning (Saturday, June 5).

It is believed the incident occurred about 2.00am as the male was walking home. During the incident, four offenders have exited a white Toyota Camry and assaulted the victim. The victim had his wallet stolen from him and suffered multiple head and facial injuries. A vehicle was seen to have slowed down at the scene who may have witnessed the incident. Police are urging for this driver to come forward.

Police are also seeking witnesses regarding the investigation of two further incidents which occurred earlier this morning (Saturday, June 5).

About 3.30am, a 21-year-old male driver was struck from behind in his vehicle by a white Toyota Camry on Badimara Street, Waramanga. The victim stopped to exchange details with the driver of the Toyota Camry when three males exited the vehicle. The victim was assaulted and robbed of his mobile phone and money, and his car was stolen by one of the male offenders.

About 4.30am Police were called to a vehicle fire in Deakin. ACT Fire Brigade had extinguished the fire on a white Toyota Camry. The number plates had been removed and another set of confirmed stolen number plates were seen inside the burnt vehicle.

Police believe these incidents to be related and are urging anyone who may have witnessed the above incidents or who has any information to contact Crime Stoppers.

3. Lured away by 5 men…

ACT Policing is seeking the assistance of the public in its investigation of the sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman in Civic early this morning (Sunday 6 June).

The crime occurred around 2am in the car park near Hobart Place in Civic. The victim was walking with another female when they were approached by up to five males. The female victim was lured away from the group to the car park where she was sexually assaulted by a number of these males.

The males were seen to leave the area in a Holden Statesman, possibly white or silver in colour.

Police are seeking for any witnesses who may have seen this car or a group of males in the area of Hobart Place, London Circuit or West Row in Civic. Anyone who may be able to identify the males, or provide any further information which could assist the investigation, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

If you can help police contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au

Luckily these events were way back in the bad old days of ye old 2010. Things are a lot better now! 😉

I hope you’ve all updated your zombie survival plans!

Indeed. I’m in the process of purchasing a new 9mm as I anticipate increasing zombie attacks in 2012 and I think I may need more firepower. With this as a supplement to the .38, the .357, the other .357 and the .204 for long range work, I reckon I’ll be set for any zombie apocalypse that might eventuate. 🙂

But seriously folks…

This is truly disgusting. It sounds like Columbia, rather than Canberra. Gangs of hoods assaulting people, deliberate car crashes and subsequent robberies, sexual assaults…What the hell is going on?

An American firearms instructor named Jeff Cooper synthesized the work of a lot of other people and came up with the modern technique of combat pistol shooting. He called people such as these “Goblins”, and I concur with his assessment. Their actions are so grossly and deliberately outside the norms of civilised behavior that these things appear inhuman, to me at least. Not people. Not animals. Not beasts. Goblins.

I hope that I never have the misfortune to encounter these monsters, and that the cops are able to round them up Real Soon Now.

What’s a pit manoeuvre?

It is a manoeuvre performed by zombies in police uniform to get brains to stop their car. An example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-jR6aOoDow

Unfortunately as can be seen in that video, it takes brains to perform the manoeuvre correctly, and the victim can use their brains to safely navigate out of it.

Anyone interested in zombie culture is urged to support the local production “Theatre of the Dead” – http://theatreofthedead.com.au/support-the-film/

…!

With a segue like that, you should be a politician!

And please, for the love of all that is good, don’t go necroing old threads. Therein lies dark magic which will corrupt your soul and sow chaos amongst the people!

Surely that makes you more part of the problem than the solution

Since when was defending oneself a bad thing? A good hiding is exactly what these knobjockeys need.

Zombies only chase people with brains. I think?

Why do you want to blame the victim of what sounds like a terrible crime? (particularly on the basis of a single sentence).

Yes NickD, I agree, a terrible crime however, I did not write the OP.

“The female victim was lured away from the group”.
Lured away like a child running after a colourful balloon?
Like a fish going after an attractive stimulus presented to it?

Why would you leave your friend to join 5 (possibly)shady looking dudes in the middle of the night?

If you don’t create the environment for shit to happen, it usually doesn’t. I would have legged it myself.

Agreed. Why is it that the suggestion people take reasonable precautions and the barest possible responsibility for themselves considered blaming the victim. They are as much victims of their own actions as anything else

How was the female victim “lured” away?

Male offender: Come over here to this dark car park and and I’ll show you a giant haggis I’ve got hidden down my pants….

Female victim: Oh, OK then…

WTF ?? How stupid are these people?

It is believed alcohol may have been a factor

I’m actually the so called victim of the ‘road rage’ incident where a glass bottle was thrown at my car while driving along hindmarsh drive outside the southern cross club. I now regret not performing a pit manoeuvre on them and calling the cops. I know it’s probably not the right answer and would have opened myself up to any number of situations, but at the end of the day if I could’ve helped catch the perps it certainly would’ve made me feel that little bit better. Now I’m left with the insurance excess and a huge hassle.

Must have been the fault of the bouncers at mooseheads as she must have been made to go to the back of the line

Its a terrible crime, however its worrying that someone’s intelligence is so limited as to be ‘lured away’ by a group of 5 males in the early hours of the morning. I can only assume there was an enticing offer of illicit substances being presented, and if so this would even make the persons overall IQ somewhat lower.
Everyone, whether it be male or female, should feel safe in our streets, But unfortunately this isnt always the case. We obviously havent educated our youth enough about possessing some ‘street smarts’ if sort of thing happens.
I hope her recovery is a quick one.

When is the long arm of the law finally going to catch up with these “Thuggies”?! It’s out of control I tells ya. I feel better knowing there’s a full set of golf clubs in my car boot specificaly for dealing with pesty white Camry drivers.

I agree with Pork Hunt, and thought exactly the same. Either the woman has made a gastly descision, or the Police have used an inappropriate word “lured” to describe the overall happenings (theme) of the offence.

Has Mully’s ghost turned to other exploits such as gangrape?
