1. Stolen, drunk and on the run. A great effort by a 30 year old Spence man.

“About 11.25pm, Tuesday, 5 August, police detected a blue coloured Nissan Pulsar travelling at speed on Anthony Rolfe Avenue, Gungahlin.

Police followed the vehicle before attempting to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle allegedly failed to stop and accelerated away from police, travelling through numerous Gungahlin residential streets before mounting a kerb.

The alleged offender then fled the vehicle and was apprehended after a short foot chase on Best Lane, Gungahlin.

The male was subsequently arrested and conveyed to the Regional City Watch house where he returned a positive breath test.

Further checks revealed the vehicle was reported stolen on Sunday, 3 August 2008.

The 30-year-old will face the ACT Magistrates Court today on charges of driving a motor vehicle without consent, drink driving and traffic offences.”

But does he have “Born to lose” tattooed on his forehead?

2. Police are also seeking two witnesses to the Charnwood murder:

“The pair (circled) left the Regal Charcoal Chicken outlet at Charnwood Shops around 7.50pm, just prior to the incident.

The male and female are yet to make contact with police.

Police would urge persons depicted in the footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000”

.

3. There was a fire at Trinity Christian College, Wanniassa (Medical Centre protests getting out of hand?):

About 3.45am, police attended the McBryde Crescent address upon request from ACT Fire Brigade and found a large amount of smoke billowing from the roof of a building attached to one of the schools main wings.

The fire appears to have started in a wheelie bin which was found adjacent to a locked wooden door of the building. Police were advised the building housed a storeroom which is used for text book storage and photocopying.

The damage is estimated to be around $100,000.

ACT Fire Brigade units attended and extinguished the fire.

Police are treating the fire as suspicious; AFP Forensic Services will examine the scene this morning for evidence. Investigations are ongoing.

Police would urge anyone who may have seen suspicious persons in the area of the school early this morning to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Yes, nobody should testify against anyone because they might get murdered – FFS, reality check.

Ok so they’ve blanked out the faces of the other people in the shop, and circled the people who COULD be witnesses.

Good on you, AFP. Way to paint a target on their backs, knuckleheads.

Target for who? Are you serious? Look out folks, a helpful person who might be able to
assist in the investigation of a serious offence has identified witnesses and contacted Crime Stoppers. Arghhhhh!

Knucklehead yourself.

Picture it. You’re a murderer who isn’t sure if these people have seen anything or not. You’ve already committed one murder, and ooh look some nice Government agency has circled their, albeit low-res and not too clear, likenesses for you. You’ve committed one murder, the bridge has been crossed and there’s no going back. What’s to stop you from finding and killing these two to protect yourself from going to prison?

Wouldn’t you feel like a target if you were these two people?

I admit it. I don’t think highly of the human animal for the most part.

What’s to stop you from finding and killing these two to protect yourself from going to prison?

1) The fact the alleged murderer is remanded.

2) Identifying those two people from crap CCTV is going to be very difficult.

3) Finding these particular witnesses and knocking them off would still leave many more witnesses left to testify, which would make it kind of pointless I would’ve thought.

What’s to stop killing everybody there there are no witnesses…. blah blah.

Life is not TV nor is there a consparicy to let alleged offenders know the name address and contact details of any witness.

How rough is that area? There’s crime-scene tape hanging off the door from the previous day’s murder.

Haha, brilliant!

Nevermind that everyone else has been deliberately blurred, I might actually know those two, but the picture itself is far too blurry.

As a lesson to everyone wanting security cameras to retrieve footage from later, invest in quality.
