1. I wonder what part of Reid he lives?

A 21-year-old Reid man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Monday, June 7) on six traffic charges and a breach of bail after he was apprehended by police driving in the inner Canberra area around noon yesterday.

Police activated warning lights and siren and attempted a traffic stop on the red Ford Laser in Donaldson Street, Braddon shortly after midday. The driver refused to stop, and a pursuit was engaged.

The driver was seen to exceed the speed limit in Elimatta Street and Ainslie Avenue, Braddon, and to ignore two stop signs. Speeds reached around 85km/h.

The driver halted the car in the carpark of an apartment complex in Allambee Street in Reid and ran off, but was apprehended by police a short time later.

The vehicle the alleged offender was driving was found to be unregistered, uninsured and to be affixed with stolen number plates. He was also found to be disqualified from driving until 2014.

He will be charged with offences relating to all these matters, including failing to stop for police and furious/reckless/dangerous driving. He will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court this morning.

2. “Show me what it can do!

Two P-plate drivers will face fines of $1811 each, the loss of 6 demerit points and their licence disqualification after two high speed incidents last night (Sunday June 6).

About 8.30pm last night (Sunday June 6), police stopped a 19-year-old male NSW provisional licence holder on Barton Highway near Hall, driving at a speed of 167km/h in a 100km/h zone.

In a separate incident, a 20-year-old male ACT provisional licence holder was stopped by police on Gungahlin Drive about 9pm, driving at a speed of 142km/h in an 80km/h zone. The 20-year-old male had his girlfriend in the car who was allegedly urging him to show her “what his car could do”.

Police would remind all motorists about the upcoming Queens Birthday long weekend when double demerit points will apply. Double demerits will apply from midnight Thursday June 10 through to midnight Monday June 14.

The 21 year old from Reid was named by the ABC radio today as Dennis Fisher. Apparently his lawyer said he suffers from Epilepsy and a mental disorder.

I can’t really see that either are excuses when you have a car-theft habit that extends over years and years.

In the last report on RiotACT of someone claiming that defence, the defence worked and the offender was found not guilty of armed robbery with a syringe.

the recalcitrant Mr fisher apparently cares for his 16 yr old brother…in between doing bongs and stealing cars… what hope does the brother have of turning out halfway ok.

I’ve heard on the community grapevine that Dennis Fisher has at various times been charged with over 100 car thefts, most of which he’s been excused of, with charges dropped.

I know it’s been said a thousand times before, but someone really needs to lock recalcitrant scum like Mr Fisher up for a long time. He’s one chap who most likely will never be rehabilitated.

He must have been trying to show his girlfriend how fast his car will go to make up for his small penis.

Cops had Horse Park Drive blocked off at 2.30 am Sunday morning and motorists from Amaroo area were being turned around near the Mulligans Flat walk carpark. Haven’t heard any media, does anyone know what was the cause?
