1. Thieves have had a shot at another ATM:

ACT Policing is investigating the attempted theft of an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) from the rear foyer of the Canberra Sothern Cross Club West, in Macquarie around 5.20am yesterday (October 4).

The offenders have reversed a stolen panel van into the doors of the building and attempted to remove a free-standing ATM from the foyer.

The stolen vehicle sustained damage during the incident, causing it to break down, as a result the offenders fled the scene empty handed.

Police are yet to determine if this incident is related to the theft of an ATM in Fyshwick on Thursday October 2.

2. The Saturday ice seizure’s already had some play, but the official version of events is now out:

ACT Policing’s Drug Investigation Team have arrested a 50-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman after a vehicle stop on Majura Road around 10.30am yesterday (October 4).

Detectives stoped the vehicle and conducted a search of the car locating over $19,000 cash and two ounces of suspected methylamphetamine commonly known as ‘ice’.

The Bonython man will face the ACT Magistrates Court tomorrow (October 6) charged with trafficking in a drug other than cannabis and unlawful possession.

The Theodore woman was bailed from the Regional Watch House to face the ACT Magistrates Court on October 15, charged with trafficking in a controlled drug other than cannabis and possession of a drug of dependence.

3. There’s been another arrest in the Red Hill stabbings:

The 24-year-old woman will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (October 6) charged with aggravated robbery and property damage.

4. Drunk, on Ps, crashing. Fail.

A 23-year-old man will be summonsed to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on drink driving charges following a collision early this morning (Monday, October 6).

About 2am, police attended a motor-vehicle collision on Lowanna Street, Braddon. A Holden station wagon travelling northbound allegedly collided with two parked vehicles causing significant damage.

The alleged driver, a 23-year-old man and holder of a provisional license, returned a positive screening test. A subsequent breath analysis returned a reading of 0.162 which is eight times the legal limit for a provisional driver.

The 23-year-old man will be summonsed to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court at a date to be fixed on drink driving and traffic charges.

5. The mean streets of Phillip:

ACT Policing is investigating an aggravated robbery outside an apartment complex on the corner of Corinna and Callam Streets, Phillip overnight.

About 1am, Monday, October 6, the male victim was using the intercom to gain access to the complex when he was approached by two males who demanded his wallet and mobile phone.

The victim refused to hand them over and was assaulted before the offenders stole his mobile phone and fled the area towards the Phillip business district.

The offenders are described as being male, 16 to20 years old, one was wearing dark clothing and the other a white t-shirt and tracksuit pants.

6. The Ainslie pharmacy was knocked over yesterday:

Staff complied with the offenders demands and followed him out of the shop, raising the alarm. A member of the public came to the aid of the staff and observed the offender flee the scene in an early model white Ford Telstar with a black stripe down the side and the number plate covered.

The offender (pictured) is described as male, Caucasian or European in appearance, approximately 173-175cm (5’8 – 5’9”) tall, olive skin, with black hair, and acne scars on his face. Police viewed CCTV footage of the incident. The footage showed, what appeared to be, a white Toyota Camry accelerate into the front glass area of the store. Three men were seen exiting the vehicle. The men took a quantity of alcohol before leaving in the vehicle.

Can’t be a school holidays without the kiddies nicking a car, going for a joy ride and ram raiding a place for free grog. There has to be a high speed car chase this weekend.

And I for one think he looked lovely!

*tee hee*

That was the drug bust we saw (on the way to the Tulip Gardens, actually) on Majura Road. Figured it must have been something like drugs, as it was all plain cop cars and they were rootling through bags and things, not marching about writing tickets.

Women’s sunglasses?

Clearly the camo-jacket was to help him blend in with the scenery, and the women’s sunglasses were a decoy. He was hoping people would say “Oh I didn’t notice anyone. Just that female tree …”

Busy day at the office.

All the rage. Think Corey.
