One of the alleged offenders then struck out at the male victim, and several of the other males in the group also participated in the assault. When the female victim attempted to intercede, she was also assaulted.

2. Crime failure in the Inner North:

ACT Policing yesterday arrested a 19-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man after a credit card stolen overnight from a burglary in O’Connor was used in an attempt to purchase goods at the North Lyneham shops.

Residents at the house in O‘Connor awoke yesterday (Thursday, October 7) to find their residence had been burgled, and their BMW X3 stolen sometime between 2am and 7am.

Shortly after 7am yesterday, a credit card in the name of the victim was used at the North Lyneham shops and police were alerted.

An immediate and intensive search effort by City Patrol and Crime Targeting team members in Turner, Lyneham and O’Connor resulted in the location and arrest of two people, a 19-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man.

A search warrant was executed on the arrested woman’s home in O’Connor, where the keys to the stolen BMW and a substantial amount of stolen property were located. The stolen car was later recovered in Lyneham.

Both alleged offenders will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court this morning on property theft charges.

Anyone know anything about an arrest on Drakeford Drive last night? Saw it when I was driving past – there were 5 cop cars and more coming. Would be interested to know what happened.
