Chief Minister Stanhope has congratulated the new National Portrait Gallery for scooping the pool at the ACT Architecture Awards.
- Canberra’s newest national attraction, the National Portrait Gallery, has taken out the Canberra Medallion at the ACT Architecture Awards. Also recognised at the awards was the New Acton East Penthouse.
“The Canberra Medallion is only awarded if there is a project the jury considers worthy and is the highest honour that can be given at the ACT Architecture Awards. I congratulate architects Johnson Pilton Walker on receiving this accolade,” Mr Stanhope said.
“I also congratulate Fender Katsalidis in collaboration with local property developer Nectar Efkarpidis along with Pamille Berg Consulting and artists Dan Maginnity and Robin Blau for the Art in Architecture Award for 2009 for the New Acton East Penthouse.
