Potter Mania hits Canberra

Story from the Daily Telegraph informing us of a very keen, or very stupid Harry Potter fan, who dropped his pre-paid reciept, for the latest Harry Potter book, into Lake Burley Griffin at 4pm on Friday.

The 21 year old was helped out by a security guard, less his reciept and taken to Calvery Hospital, although Hospital staff were nice enough to called the book store and explain the situation so his stupidity was all for nothing.

So the lesson is, if you loose something, risk your life trying to get it back, and even if you don’t, there’s a chance your foolishness will be rewarded.

I really can’t thank you enough for that family update.

Mael, my 7yo is also waiting for the movie. He believes that by the time it comes out, he’ll be “old enough” to see it.

The book was good though – smaller than the last two – hubby ran off with it to the ship yesterday so my daughter is pissed that she didn’t get to read it before him!

Mondayitis

The muggles were the real losers that day.
I certainly but the MUG in muggles 😛

Hagrid roolz ok ?

Who won then Nyssa ?

Hell yeah!

Not to mention the Kmart price was $6 cheaper then Dymock’s

I walked into K-Mart Tuggers at 10am. I saw people lining up downstairs for the Dymock’s pre-orders.

K-Mart had a stack of them and so I grabbed one. It took no more than 5 mins and the Dymock’s line hadn’t really moved.

I had it finished by last night (fast reader).

borders was shite..for people who had pre-ordered (apparently like this person who fell in the lake!) we had to line up in one line, pay, and then go into an even bigger line, to collect the book.

I should of just gone to big w or kmart…

Saundered into Big W Gunghalinat about 11 – got book of card table near entrance for Mrs Danman – walked around to self serve pay point and paid – took about 2 minutes in all.

Big W looked no busier than normal

I had to hang around Civic this morning while my car got its oil, and the lines outside Borders before 9am were big, meanwhile Dymocks opposite starbucks in City Walk was very quiet. They had a card table set up inside the door piled with books, and people were just walking in, grabbing book and paying for it.

In hindsight I could’ve grabbed 10 and scalped them to the poor loons in the Borders line.

Shows the value of hype, though.

things like this makes you ashamed to live in Canberra.. -_-
