The ABC has word on Jon Stanhope’s appointment as a professorial fellow at the University of Canberra.

His new role will include teaching, research and giving strategic advice to vice-chancellor Stephen Parker.

Professor Parker says Mr Stanhope brings a wealth of experience to the job.

“His appointment will strengthen our research and education programs in leadership and public policy,” he said.

“We will also benefit from Jon’s expertise, advice and experience as we continue to evolve.”

Mr Stanhope’s job will include developing a new stream of applied research on political management issues in federal-state relations.

UPDATE: The official media release is now available via the Vice Chancellor’s blog.

Honestly I don’t really mind. in fact I’d have been extremely happy if Stanhope had been in this role 5 years ago instead of being CM.

Hopefully he has no say in art or architecture.

This way, Canberra leads in dumbing down tertiary education. Doesn’t matter what these people know because if they can’t teach the lesson will be lost.
I agree, a sinecure for ex-Labor people and their sycophants.
