Protecting the Workers?

Has anyone noticed how the police are using hand held speed cameras at the roadworks in front of the UNI Pub?

Ok, fair enough, I believe the speed zones should be enforced, but why on Sunday when no one is working on the site?

Who are you protecting?

Or is it a nice and easy to walk across the road from the Police Station and raise a few revenue dollars?

Right in the middle of the work zone is a pedestrian crossing that’s got bad visibility at the best of times. At the moment, it’s even worse with all temp fencing.

So to answer your question, pedestrians are being protected.

Haha are you for real?

It’s not just about protecting the workers. The conditions have changed.

Awwwww…….did someone get fined for breaking the law?
Let’s make red lights optional on weekends too!

Perhaps the state of the road, being as it is, under construction/repair, a lower speed limit is deemed to be needed? I really don’t think the individual coppers give a rats about revenue. Its not like they go in the draw for a plasma TV if they write ‘X’ number of tickets.
