ACT Policing has arrested a man after he allegedly assaulted a police officer early this morning (Saturday, December 7).

Around 1.30am officers attended a disturbance at Verity Lane in the city and saw a large group of men behaving aggressively.

The officers identified themselves and instructed the men to move back.

At this point a man quickly advanced on the officers and struck one of them in the side of the head.

In an attempt to subdue the man the second officer deployed some Oleoresin Capsicum Spray and after a short struggle arrested the offender.

The officer received minor injuries as a result of the assault.

The man received Watch House bail and will face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.

Why these “heroes” seem to think its OK to act like idiots I do not know. I hope they took their time administering the shampoo.

Demand the stocks.

When civic stops letting people into clubs after 12:00am & shuts down at 2:00am, we’ll have these morons like these guys to thank…

The cops should carry a few small box jellyfish tentacles. The agony of the sting might give some of these young bucks something to think about if they’re going to have a go at plod.

Why only capsicum spray? Why didn’t they shoot him as they should have?
